Great hotel a 5min walk from station. Staff very helpful and pleasant. There was an elevator.
Room very comfortable and quiet and a reasonable size. Only thing was it smelled musty.

Nice little hotel within 5 minutes walk to Gare de Lyon station. Lovely restaurants/bars nearby. Loved the interior of the room. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Loved the cellar for breakfast. Many selections to choose from.

Went for the Olympics & flight got cancelled so rang the hotel to let them know I’d be a day late & not to let my room go. That was all taken care of. Good location literally 5 minutes from the Gare de Lyon station. Plenty of cafes, pubs & restaurants very close by. Staff were all very good.

The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was very small and a bit noisy. Despite being on the 3rd floor we could clearly hear the trains rumbling below ground. The room had some damage to the walls and the shower doors leaked. The bed itself was small but comfortable. Good location for Gare De Lyon with lots of food option close by.

Very centrally located to transport network. Good clean hotel with a nice breakfast included. Rooms we had were very small but clean and tidy. Would recommend Chez Paul which is a 15 minute walk from the hotel if one is keen to taste French food which is good and affordable.

The hotel very unimpressive from outside. Reception area is tiny and the receptionist wasn't very welcoming.
The 'superior' room (201) was tiny - not enough floorspace to open a medium case. Bed was okay, but the bathroom had a sink which leaked onto the floor, floor tiles which had lifted because of the leak, and a door which was hard to close because of the lifting floor tiles. This had clearly been happening for some time and had not been fixed. I reported it immediately, but nothing was done. Also, in the 'soundproof' rooms, you can hear every Metro train passing under the hotel. All for the rip off price of £205 for one night. It spoiled my impression of Paris.

Hôtel Aurore is an unpretentious 3-star hotel. It meets the basics well, with a lift serving all floors, and air-conditioned rooms.
About 5 minutes walk from the entrance to Gare de Lyon, finding it isn't too difficult: Rue Traversière is a short street, with Hôtel Aurore pretty much in the middle.
It's good that every floor by the lift has a water cooler, but only the one in reception is actually plugged in, to give chilled water. The plants in the trough on the outside of the hotel look as if they died through neglect a long time ago. Reception appears to be manned into the evening. Plenty of bars and bistros nearby. If you need a bed for a couple of nights in this part of Paris, you could do a lot worse. I found on Expedia that the price jumped around a lot - August 2024.
