Hôtel Mercure Lyon Genas Eurexpo

Hotel was fine, that's about all I can say not 4 star for sure, more like 3. Poor restaurant choices for breakfast. Room carpet dirty, pillows smelt as though pillow cases hadn't been washed in months. Location very convenient to motorway. Outside is a little run down. Staff English is minimal which for a hotel I found very strange. Not worth the money paid. Not terrible but not great.

Very friendly staff and lovely place.

Our room was way too hot. No AC. 2 floor fans which shut off after 1.5 hours. We could open a window, but didn't help. The restaurant was excellent!

Polite efficient stsff,very clean, nice bed, spacious room.

Bathroom drains didn't work. Air conditioning was inefficient. Breakfast dining room staff weren't there to seat us then made us change tables after we were eating after seeing ourselves.

Driving down through France this was a perfect stopover. Not so far from the motorway, a modern clean hotel with very comfortable, rooms, great outdoor space, and good food. Destination chargers for Tesla and other EVs make this a definite spot for future trips. Oh, and a McDonalds just across the road if you're fed up with hotel food.

I stayed in the hotel during COVID19, so cleaniess and safetey measures are very important. The room was properly cleaned, overall hotel was clean and more importantly there was rooomservice with excellent service and decent meals. Even the breakfast could be delivered to the room on request. The rooms are modern and comfortable, good size television with CANAL+ channels. The only downside for some people could be that there is only 1 elevator for the whole hotel, with COVID only 1 person can enter so you might expect some waiting times in case you do not want to take the staircase (there are only 4 floors)

Really nice vibe, food was good, room was also nice. Good value stay. O thing to do locally, limited to hotel without a car/taxi but was a business trip so OK.

Comfortable night before flight from LYS the following morning. This hotel is located on the edge of a small town, with several parks.

This is NOT an airport hotel, no matter how it is advertised! It is about 10 miles away from LYS, and using Uber, costs about $25 EACH WAY for transportation. The advertised shuttle service was NON-existent for us - even though it is widely advertised. And I was traveling with a native French speaker who could ask by telephone etc. There ARE three real airport hotels, Ibis, Kyriad and NH, all within five minute drive from LYS or possible walking distance (15-20 minutes). (There is a 20 Euro minimum for using Uber from LYS). Except for distance, Hotel Mercure was satisfactory - Good - nice desk people, quality linens, a good restaurant in another hotel about 10 minutes walk away., gated parking lot. Bad - refrigerator did not work, coffee service in room but no pot provided, old thermostat with no numbers on it (air conditioner was weak, did not work at all in first room, so we were moved into another room, still weak), toilet in separate room from sink and shower (common in French homes), room lights turn off automatically overnight, isolated location at the edge of fields bordering industry, MacDonalds diagonally one block away across the street

Stayed one night on way to Annecy because our flight from LHR came in late. Uber driver took us there fir 24 euro...4 miles away. Didn’t know they have shuttle for 5 euro pp. Hotel Restaurant was closed but there is a McDonalds across the road open till 11:00pm but not open for breakfast till 11:00 am. Hotel is quiet and clean. Breakfast for 15 euro is decent with self squeezed orange juice machine at your disposal, only till 9:30! Good value over all!

Good location close to motorway when driving to the alps to go skiing. Easy to check in with friendly staff. Good parking facility with closed gate entry and exit. New hotel very clean and comfortable. Needs additional staff as had to wait a long time to get served at the bar.

Some issue with first room booked ( they didn't finished cleaning ), so we moved to other one. Wifi was not working the first 2 days, neither the siphon of bathtub ( never fixed ). Friendly staff tho and ideally located near to eurexpo. We liked the food at their restaurant.

Nice enough business type hotel. Room was clean and comfortable. Locked indoor garage is nice. If you need to leave early in the morning for your plane be aware that you need to call the front desk person on your phone and wait while they come. The indoor garage is locked at night so they need to open it for you to get your car. I would definitely use this hotel again for an early morning flight out of Lyon.
