Radisson Hotel Leipzig

Overall, the hotel was nice, amenities seemed of good quality and new. When checking in there was a fairly long line and we had to wait about 10 - 15 minutes to check in which was a new experience for us in a four-star-hotel. Unfortunately, we had a room that was located towards the street so opening the window was impossible due to noise. However, the room was extremely hot and stuffy. Turning on the AC meant that the air stream flow moved the curtains which then made a fairly loud and arrhythmic clicking noise which made sleeping really difficult. We told that info to the staff the next morning and the nice and polite lady told us that it was a construction error in every room that the AC air stream flow made the curtains move and thus caused the clicking noises. She suggested to turn the AC air stream flow down but then it would've been impossible to sleep because the room was so stuffy. The breakfast was nice, we'd say average. We missed some bacon ;) but there were breakfast sausages and meatballs which excused the absence of bacon ;) The breakfast room was unusually full and when we later went upstairs, we again saw a long line of people waiting who actually seemed to have to wait for the other hotel guests to finish their breakfast to make room for the new hotel guests. We stayed one night on a weekend and there were Christmas markets plus the Christmas oratorium concert so it might have been unusually full, too. For the overall experience, the price was too high.

The hotel itself is in a good location and was clean and tidy. We had to ask for the room to be cleaned on the first day. There was no option for room service, and we were told there was no additional water that could be brought to our room. The bar closed very early.

Ich wählte dieses Hotel aus wegen der guten Bewertungen. Einzig die heiße Raumluft im Sommer störte einige der früheren Gäste. Das wird kein Problem sein im Oktober, dachte ich. Weit gefehlt. Zwei Mal bat ich das Personal an der Rezeption um Hilfe, um die Klimaanlage auf eine niedrigere Temperatur zu drosseln, aber die Raumtemperatur blieb bei 24 Grad - zu warm um gut zu schlafen. Ich musste bei offenem Fenster an der viel befahrenen Straße schlafen und trotzdem waren es laut mitgebrachtem Thermometer 23,5 Grad! Also meiner Ansicht haben die Kritiken recht: Alles ist perfekt, Frühstück, Sauberkeit, Ausstattung, Ruhe, aber das Zimmer ist unangenehm warm.

Good breakfast and we used the bar most evenings of our stay. Service was good and bar staff were helpful.

Really pleasant stay with friendly staff. A 10 minutes walk to Main Train Station and tram links to rest of city.

Newer building, nice clean rooms. Staff could use some work. Seemed like vacuum was running constantly in lobby. Breakfast is decent. Lack of sufficient food to cater to allergies. Bit disappointing. Area around hotel is definitely still in development, close-ish to hbf, but some may find the desolate walk to hotel lengthy.
