Malmo Historic Hotel

My stay at the Malmo was perfect! From them organizing a taxi pick up at the airport to the ease of check-in, breakfast buffet, and the room itself, I couldn’t recommend more! The pictures of the room online looked exactly as it did in person. There were so many dining options near the hotel and a quick walk to the harbor, one of the local beaches, and many different activities. Whenever I come back to Chanai, I will be staying here!

Cannot recommend this hotel enough. We were looked after superbly (thank you again for the gluten free breakfast items), our room was lovely, with modern high tech features and everyone was so friendly. It’s location is close to lots of restaurants, a ten minute walk to the Venetian harbour. Would definitely stay again when revisiting Chania.

Amazing place , beautifully located , and fantastic staff

Excellent, clean, and spacious rooms, friendly and communicative staff. Simple but delicious breakfast. Physically in the old city and within minutes of the harbor and easy walking distance to many excellent restaurants. Only problem is parking. You’ll have to park either on a street, finding a parking spot, or in the municipal lot which has a hard limit of 4 hours per day. Manageable if you plan to be on the road most of the day but an inconvenience none the less. Also, these parking areas are at least 500m from the hotel which means you will be dragging or carrying your luggage along cobbled streets to get to the hotel and back when you check out. This said, we really enjoyed the stay and would happily recommend it and stay again.

We visited Chania in late March. This hotel was fantastically located in the Old Town with beautiful rooms and superb bathrooms. The hostess, Virginia, was amazingly friendly, wonderful and helpful. Will definitely stay here again! Our only regret is that our stay was too short.

Extremely clean, new facility. The staff responds and communicates really well. The rooms are beautiful and very relaxing. It is centered in a great dining and shopping area of Old Town. I would recommend and stay again.

The hotel is great, the location, the staff, everything... Our room was a bit small, I guess it was the standard one, and the mattress is quite soft, for those who have back problems. But the breakfast, the decor, the building and the centralness of the hotel and the staff were great.

Malmo Historic Hotel was before a public library. It is a very nice building that was completely renovated inside. The staff is very helpful and the breakfast is excellent

Fantastic 2 week stay. Wonderful staff, great breakfast. Very accommodating and even switched us to a larger room for a week. Just steps away is a street with the best restaurants in Chania. We ate at all of them, a few multiple times. We travel A LOT. It’s nice to come upon a place this nice. Small cozy boutique hotel. It doesn’t happen often that we find gems like this.

The staff was incredible and warmly welcoming! Will definitely be returning!

Great hotel

The Staff is absolutely incredible - the hotel is a Boutique hotel with reasonably spacious rooms - perfectly maintained! The Breakfast was wonderful. The location could not be beat.

Malmo Historic Hotel has great location. It’s in the center of the historic part of the city. The staff and maid service were excellent. Very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. The room was spacious, bed and pillows comfortable, bathroom was large with a great shower and bathroom amenities were really good. I would definitely recommend this hotel. It’s a small boutique hotel with a lot of charm

I had the pleasure of experiencing a memorable stay at the Malmo Historic Hotel, in July 2024. This boutique hotel is luxurious, offering the old charm of the island, while providing modern day comforts. Conveniently located and within walking distance to several dining establishments, local shops, tourist attractions and the beach, this hotel was an excellent choice! Upon arrival, I was greeted with a "sweet" welcome. The front desk concierge was friendly, and offered complimentary baklava bites. After a long day of travel, the treat was very thoughtful and very much appreciated. Her hospitality didn't stop there. She provided a map of the island and offered helpful tidbits to ensure I had the best experience during my stay. My generously sized room had a classic-modern style, offering beautiful finishes right from its entrance and all the way into the bathroom -- which was almost as big as the bedroom! Using local products in their toiletries was also appreciated. The room was fully equipped, providing a comfortable and relaxing experience. They thought of everything, even providing beach gear (beach bag and towels). The hotel's private balcony offered a peaceful atmosphere to enjoy their daily, complimentary breakfast. Local treats were amongst familiar choices, offering something for everyone. Kudos to the creators of the hotel, as well as their staff. Wishing you all the best and continued success! Such a beautiful hotel in the heart of Chania Old Town! Easy walk to the main area with the restaurants and cafes and lovely staff! Room was so clean and the bathroom was lovely and modern - would stay again and recommend!

Nice stay

This property was amazing. They helped me coordinate a pickup from the airport, and was so nice at check in. It felt like a personalized stay! The rooms and hotel were beautiful and so modern. I would highly recommend this hotel and would absolutely stay here again.
