Hotel Laugarbakki

This was our favorite stay on our 11 day trip. It’s a little treasure of the main road. The staff is friendly and made some great cocktails during their happy hour. Plus both dinner and breakfast the next morning were excellent. The view of the surrounding farms left us feeling safe and refreshed after a long day of fighting strong winds.

This was one of the best breakfasts that we had in all of Iceland, but it doesn't make up for the fact that the windows are old and we could hear the wind howling all night. None of us slept really well because of that. Also, on the website, it says you have laundry services, but you charge 5000 krona to do one load of laundry. Preparing someone's laundry and having laundry services on site is two totally different things.

Comfortable room, shower water pressure is not very high but at least it's hot. Hotel is very nice and has good breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. Also a good location to see the aurora if the sky is clear, as there's great visibility in all directions!

what an incredible time we had visiting Iceland last week. Everything about this hotel is top notch, from the food, to the room to the staff. 10/10

Friendly staff at front desk and quick check-in. Clean and comfortable room. They have 3 hot tubs ready to use.

Hotel is in remote location, but doesn’t take advantage of that by giving nice views of the unique landscape. Most rooms just overlook the parking lot. The 4 hot tubs could be an amazing feature if they looked out at the landscape rather than a wooden fence.

Reception was friendly and accommodating. Room was very clean and the bed comfortable. We had dinner in their restaurant. We ordered the beef tenderloin with broccoli, mushrooms in a Dijon mustard sauce, a beet root purée and baby potatoes. It was delicious! The breakfast buffet was good with a variety of items offered. We used the out door hot tubs and found the water temperature to be satisfactory. Very nice after a day of driving.

The staff were wonderful.

Easy parking, comfortable bed and pillows. We enjoyed the hot tubs outside. We were given robes to use. We had a delightful meals at restaurant having cod, lamb burger, creme brulee, bakki special, wine and a beer. The service was superb.

The room was spotless, way bigger than expected.

Good sized triple room, clean and refreshing. Happy hour and a dinner menu featuring fish and lamb (local ingredients). Hot tubs available.

Great location just off the ring road, Friendly and helpful staff. Dinner (lamb burgers) were good and breakfast had the best options we have had so far over nine days. Room was a good size and robes were provided if you wanted to use the hot tub. However, the shower pressure was weak, at least in our second floor room, and the hand held shower head wouldn't stay up in its holder (for those not wanting a rain fall shower over their head), also towels were fraying and not soft, disappointing for the price paid.

Out in the middle of nowhere but was what we needed.

Room was very comfortable. Breakfast had one of the largest varieties we’ve experienced on our trip. Enjoyed the hot tubs in the rain.
