Nice hotel. Firstly, I wasn't sure if this area, which isn't exactly a city, actually has a star-rated hotel, haha. Everything was good. The room was nice and very comfortable. It's worth checking out for those of you who need a break, or just want some me-time or a chill vibe. Ambiance/Facilities: The ambiance truly reflects a star-rated hotel, complemented by its extensive facilities. Food: The food is unbeatable; you can truly experience the taste of restaurant-class food. Staff: Totally helpful, available 24/7, and the service was good. Highlights: Everything was good, as our main goal was simply to try a hotel away from the city and get some rest. The good thing is that everything met our expectations. This is an underrated hotel that you should definitely try. Price: The price you pay for a hotel of this class is definitely worth it. Location: Because this hotel is in the center of the crowd, but not the city, it can be said to be quite strategic for those of you who are traveling to the city and need to rest, yup, this hotel is the choice.

Reaching Antang Kalang from major international hubs requires careful planning, with flights typically connecting through Jakarta (CGK) or Surabaya (SUB) before a domestic flight to Sampit Airport (PKY), the primary gateway. For travellers from the United States, journeys from New York (JFK) or Los Angeles (LAX) can take upwards of 20-25 hours, including layovers.

European travellers from London (LHR) or Frankfurt (FRA) can expect similar durations, around 20-24 hours. Indian travellers from Mumbai (BOM) or Delhi (DEL) might find routes around 18-22 hours. For those from African cities like Nairobi (NBO) or Lagos (LOS), the journey can be longer, potentially 25-30 hours or more, often involving multiple connections. Once at Sampit Airport, the city centre is a short drive away, making it convenient to book flight tickets in advance.

Navigating within Antang Kalang and its surrounding areas is relatively straightforward, especially in the main centre of Sampit. Local taxis and ride-hailing services like Grab are readily available and offer an affordable way to get around, with short trips costing approximately USD 1-3. For exploring further afield or venturing into more rural districts, renting a car with a driver can be a practical option, offering flexibility and local knowledge. Public buses also operate between towns, providing a very economical, albeit slower, mode of transport for the adventurous.

The best time to visit Antang Kalang generally aligns with Indonesia's dry season, typically from May to September. During these months, the weather is more favourable for outdoor activities, with less rainfall and more sunshine, making it ideal for exploring the region's natural attractions. While hotel prices might see a slight increase during peak season, they remain considerably lower than in more established tourist destinations, offering good value. This period also avoids the heaviest monsoon rains, ensuring a more comfortable travel experience.

Before departing for Antang Kalang, ensure you have the essentials covered. The local currency is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR), though USD may be accepted in some larger establishments; carrying some local cash is advisable. Purchasing a local SIM card at the airport upon arrival is recommended for easy data access and communication. Essential apps include Google Maps for navigation, Google Translate for language assistance, and ride-hailing apps. Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay.

For travellers from many African nations, such as Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa, a visa is typically required, which can often be obtained as a Visa on Arrival (VOA) or through an e-visa application prior to travel, allowing for stays of up to 30 days.

The application process for any required visas, such as the VOA or e-visa for certain nationalities, involves presenting a valid passport with at least six months of remaining validity, a confirmed return or onward flight ticket, and sufficient funds to cover your stay. Some nationalities may be asked to provide proof of accommodation bookings. The VOA fee is generally around USD 35 and is payable upon arrival.
