It is essential for Indian travellers to verify the specific requirements well in advance, as these can be more stringent than for citizens of Western nations, and to ensure they meet all documentation needs for a smooth entry.

Travellers from African nations, including Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa, will find that visa requirements for Indonesia vary significantly by nationality. Some African passport holders may qualify for a visa on arrival, while others will be required to obtain a visa in advance through an Indonesian embassy or consulate. It is imperative for all African travellers to research their specific country's requirements for entering Indonesia to visit Bandar Masilam, as this process can sometimes involve more extensive documentation and longer processing times.

The application process for any required visa typically involves submitting a passport with at least six months of validity, completed application forms, passport-sized photographs, and sometimes proof of onward travel and sufficient funds. Fees for visas on arrival or e-visas are generally payable in USD. It is strongly recommended that all travellers, regardless of nationality, verify the latest visa regulations with the official Indonesian immigration authority or the nearest Indonesian embassy or consulate before booking their flight to Bandar Masilam, as policies can change.
