The hotel is very clean and very comfortable. For that price in Yogyakarta, including very affordable and strategic. The service was very friendly. Unfortunately, I can't swim because I'm busy working. Even though the swimming pool is nice and clean.

I highly recommend Hotel Matahari for anyone looking for affordable accommodation in Yogyakarta without sacrificing amenities.
Its biggest plus is its spacious and clean outdoor pool! This is a rare find in budget hotels, and it's a great place to relax or take the kids swimming after a day of exploring Yogyakarta.
The location is also very strategic:
It's close to the Prawirotaman culinary center and the Parangtritis area.
Access to Malioboro, the Palace, and Tamansari is also easy and quick.
My room was clean, the air conditioning was cool, and the staff were very friendly and professional. The breakfast (if you choose the package) was also quite comprehensive and delicious.
Conclusion: Hotel Matahari is a smart choice for backpackers and small families. You get more than you pay for! Definitely worth it, and I would stay here again.

Friendly service, smelly toilet because FD is not equipped with a trap, exhaust fan needs to be cleaned, hot water in the morning is not optimal, downlights are loose, it's time to replace the sheets, the power outlet is dead when the lights go out. Thx
