I had high hopes for The Lokha Ubud, but my stay was underwhelming—especially given the premium pricing. Things started off oddly when I ordered a pizza from room service. It arrived in under 10 minutes (impressive!), but was completely cold. Not exactly the welcome meal I was hoping for.
The next afternoon, I was hit with a blast of loud, thumping music. I asked the staff about it and got a bit of a mystery tour: first they claimed it was coming from their own restaurant (?), then later—after some back and forth—they finally admitted it was actually from a live DJ pool party at the neighboring Amora resort. A little heads-up might’ve been nice. They said they’d ask them to turn it down… unsurprisingly, that never happened.
To their credit, they offered to move me to a different room—further from the noise and closer to the river, where the sound of rushing water mercifully helped mask the bass. But then came another letdown: the bed sheets had a distinct mildew smell, and there was visible mold in the bathroom. For a property charging this kind of rate, that’s just plain sloppy.
On the bright side, the staff were genuinely friendly and tried their best to accommodate—but no amount of smiles can make up for poor soundproofing, mystery mold, and a club-level soundtrack in what’s supposed to be a tranquil jungle retreat. For the same price, you’d be far better off at the Hyatt in Sanur.

There is nothing outside the resort you have to use the hotel taxi to go anywhere the breakfast is very average and only warm.

The Lokha was the perfect stay in Ubud! It’s walking distance into the centre but with plenty of little cafe and restaurant options close by. Staff were all so wonderful, the yoga and spa areas were gorgeous - all contributed to a really relaxing stay.

The hotel is in a quiet, convenient location with a complimentary shuttle into town, and there are cafes, shops, and a spa within walking distance. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, with Wulan standing out for making our stay extra special. The breakfast buffet was excellent, offering a wide variety of delicious options that changed regularly, and we also enjoyed the afternoon tea and the BBQ dinner with traditional Balinese dances. While the rooms were clean and comfortable, they could use a deeper clean, and the poolside lounge chair cushions and towels could be refreshed as they appeared stained. Overall, we had a great stay!

The Lokha was a hidden gem. My wife and I can to Ubud for our honeymoon and we are glad we stayed at this resort. Rooms were very clean and the staff were super friendly. The resort has a lot of amenities like a spa, restaurant, and small gym. The resort offers shuttles to Ubud city center and taxis to surrounding locations. Staff went above and beyond to take care of us. One of the best resorts in Ubud.
