We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was clean and comfortable and Liz was exceptionally friendly and helpful. It was in a good location with shops, restaurants and pubs nearby, and around a 25 minute walk into the centre, although buses are very easily accessible. We would recommend Acara House to others and would definitely stay here again :)

Very nice visit. The proprietor couldn't have been more friendly and helpful, the room was large (by Euro B&B standards) and clean, the bed was comfy, and the location--while not right in the thick of things--was reasonably convenient.

I stayed at Acara House for 3 nights. The hostess Elizabeth and her mum Helen were very accommodating. The room was small but with a comfortable bed and TV. It was a really good choice for a cheap stay. The breakfast facilities were adequate for those with non dietary requirements. Overall pleasant place to stay, only down side was the room wasn't as clean as I would have liked.

My friend and I stayed here for 4 nights. We loved the coziness and comfort. We don't mind walking or getting to other parts of Dublin using the bus/rail system, so we were set. However, if you'd rather be closer to the downtown area and/or hate to walk or use PT - I suggest you stay closer to Connolly or Tara Street rail stations. Elizabeth was a wonderful hostess and didn't mind helping us out when we needed to. She also gave us our freedom of going out and coming back when we wanted to. Breakfast is 6 Euros (but definitely worth it to have a home-cooked meal). Overall - a pretty solid spot :-)

Our stay at the Acara House was absolutely wonderful! From the minute my daughter and I got there until we left, Elizabeth was both warm and friendly and always willing and anxious to make us feel comfortable. The room was was very neat, clean and cozy and was tidy upon all of our returns. Elizabeth was always available to help or give advice and even went out our her to way to help us with our parking. I recommend this B&B to anyone who wants a wonderful stay in a convenient location and a very gracious host. She serves up a wonderful breakfast on request or has plenty of fresh fruit, cereals, bread, juice, coffee and jams or jelllies. Thank you Elizabeth for making our stay a memorable one!

The Acara House is a comfortable, well priced B&B just outside Dublin's city center, in the Drumcondra section. Very easy to get there by Air Coach bus from the airport, and about a 20 minute walk to the Temple Bar and Trinity College sections. Drumcondra itself is a working class neighborhood, with a lot of local color, but a bit lacking in places to eat, cafes, and other amenities when you don't yet know your way around. The Acara House proprietor, Elizabeth, is fantastic. She went out of her way to stay in touch with us by e-mail before we arrived, and opened the doors very early so we could get settled after our overnight flight from Boston, rest a bit, and really enjoy our first full day in Dublin. We had to leave before breakfast the next morning to catch a train to Galway, so are unable to comment on breakfast, but the dining room itself looked very inviting. The bed was large and very comfortable, especially after a night wedged into economy seats on the airplane. We would recommend the Acara House very highly.

This was the nicest and cleanest B&B I stayed in whilst in Dublin. Room was big and clean, nice tea service en suite. It is a GOOD 25-30 minute walk (at a clip) from city centre, and there is no clear or easy way to get there. There are bus stops close by, but these are poorly labeled. Also, surrounding area is quiet yet sparse. The Mapels Hotel across the way has a restaurant and full bar, but that is it. I recommend the lodging for price, cleanliness, and the great breakfast... Just bear in mind that it is not close. With that said, the lodgings in Dublin proper are no great bargain and arent all that nice.
