Castle Hotel Macroom

Really friendly & welcoming hotel with great staff. Large comfortable room and great food. Highly recommended

Hotel was great, clean, comfortable and friendly staff. Very nice complimentary breakfast offered Very handy supermarket a couple of doors down that is open early/ late for those forgotten items

The facility is pretty disjointed, long walk from parking with luggage-up and down multiple stairs. Room pretty dated, but clean. Staff was very friendly, multiple dining options and shops/dining wirhin walking distance.

The staff were absolutely brilliant. Extremely courteous and helpful. The food was good as it has always been. The foyer and downstairs areas ( bar, restaurant, breakfast room and coffee shop were also very good but the rooms were quite tired and need some refurbishment along with the upstair corridors.

Staff is very friendly. Unfortunately, the furniture in is dated and you can see that the hotel has not invested enough to bring it up to date. Also the cleaning should improve, especially in the bathroom. We expect more from a 4 star hotel for about 200€ per night.

The staff were cheerful and proactive. My husband had a medical emergency and ended up in hospital, The staff supported me and that meant a lot especially when we were a long way from home

Downtown location with parking was appreciated. Even though they claim to be undergoing a renovation, the finishing were already top-notch and the property felt quite luxurious. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The overall stay was good and at a reasonable price

We could not drink the water because of a health notice. Not sure if hotel’s responsibility but they could have a filter system for the whole property.

Very direct route to Hotel from Cork. Checked-in and was told of a Water notice - we were not allowed to drink the water not just in the Hotel but the whole Macroom region. Hotel provided bottled water for rooms. Ice was brought in from Supervalue and salad stuffs were washed in cooled boiled water. Meals and service were very good. Sunday carvery is to “die for!!!” Customers have access to the pool but we didn’t use the facility- “just in case!” Price for three nights B&B was really good. I priced a lot of hotels in the cork area. The. Castle Hotel was the best value. The Hotel is under renovation at the minute. It is tired and needs a lick of paint and a general face-lift. Arrived, not knowing what to expect and left feeling very rested and satisfactorily pleased. For us, the “water issue” was the only “down side”.

Nice hotel in the center of town. The staff were friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make us happy and comfortable. We arrived late and the front desk clerk quickly reserved us a table in the restaurant so we could get dinner before the restaurant closed. The food was delicious in the dining room and the full breakfast was tasty as well. The hotel is hard to spot when you’re driving through town. Once we found it we were very impressed.

Beautiful older hotel. Difficulty in accessing small off street parking lot. Entry from lot requires carrying luggage up numerous steps to get to lobby. Would be very difficult for older individuals.
