This is a great hotel! It is a minute off the motorway, we stayed on our way down to Amalfi. Yes it is somewhat dated but it is clean and perfectly adequate for the price. Right next door is a fabulous restaurant. The parking facilities are good.

This property needs to be remodel. The restaurant closes sooner than advertise. During the night a lot of men (10-15) drinking at night having a good time, but it cause for me to feel unsafe.

The hotel was clean and close to the main road, but the room was more like a basic 2 star hotel. The toilet was ancient and the toilet seat was in very poor condition. Worst 4 star hotel I have ever been to. Breakfast matched the standard of the hotel, there wasn't even a toaster in the breakfast room.

The room we stayed was filled with IKEA style furniture and clean. The people were very friendly and spoke good English and helped book Uffizi and Accademia reservations. The hotel is located south of Florence directly next to an E35 exit. Very easy to get access to all the major roads including the ones to Florence, Sienna, Pisa and Rome. One needs to have a car as we did for Tuscany area tour. There are laundry and COOP supermarket for daily routines within driven distances.

We read bad reviews for the hotel and tried to keep an open mind going into our stay. Surrounding area seemed decent. Hotel lobby and eating area not so bad. Nice receptionist. Went to room (for family of five) and big enough. Downsides were, however, as follows: 1) Noise all night long as they had to situate us right next to the elevators for a family of five. Fortunately, we were so exhausted, we were able to sleep through most of it. 2) Lost electricity at night and didn't get it back in all outlets before leaving the next morning. Be sure to bring a flash light just in case. We had a hard time finding a hotel for a family of five so we might consider returning if we couldn't find anything else, but we would definitely insist on staying well away from the elevators. I Ciliegi was a good hotel for people on a budget. It was a bit far from the center of Florence, but couldn't beat it for the price. The room was clean and had plenty of closet/storage space. The bathroom was a bit small, sort of crammed. The shower had poor water pressure. The breakfast was really good - cold meats, eggs, bread, yogurt w/toppings, cereal, pastries, and a variety of drinks (more than what you usually get in Italian hotels). Overall, can't complain. We enjoyed our stay for the price :)

a very old hotel; inside out, with old fittings and fixtures in the room.. You really need a car if you want to stay there otherwise you'll spend time waiting for buses or spend lots on taxis.. Breakfast might be good if you are not staying with tour groups. Staff are quite friendly, but nothing much they can do for you.

Staff at this hotel were friendly, helpful and had a good sense of humour.The rooms were efficiently air conditioned and there was no disturbance from traffic during the night despite the proximity of the road network. Breakfast was enjoyable, varied, unhurried and much more adequate than some of the ones we had from hotels in Florence.Plenty of fruit was provided. We did not use either the bar or the restaurant facilities so cannot comment on them.Seating areas were spacious and pleasant.

Just remember the star rating in the US is not the same as in Europe. Therefore, a 3 star is really a 1 star. What's close to the train is not really that close. If you have international calling, verify everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Amenities, type of bathroom, shower, do they cut the air off at night, internet, how close to the nearest Metro or train station, you get the picture). Ask for a recent picture if you can. Most of those photos were taken when the hotel opened and alot has changed since then. Staff great, but the address was wrong and it was a disaster. By the way the bread is not complimentary like in the US. They bring it, you pay for it. But if you don't mind paying up to 7,50 euros for 3-4 pieces of bread then eat it. Otherwise tell them you don't want the bread and make sure they take it off your bill.
