Lovely hotel and balcony (we booked a partial sea view). The most wonderful staff who really supported a gluten free diet guest. The dedicated free shuttle bus was a great addition. If you can, would highly recommend the boat excursion to Capri/grotto Verdi, arranged by the hotel. The most fantastic trip!

Very friendly and helpful staff! Great breakfast…dinner was excellent, and Tony, who we believe was the mater Dee was absolutely WONDERFUL! Incredible view from our room and we loved feeding apples to the donkey next door. City bus stop was 100 yards away and the hotel shuttle was very convenient as well. LOVED this hotel!!

The hotel La Vue D’Or is located in the hills above Sorrento providing a quiet respite from the bustling town below. The views are breathtaking and you often hear church bells, rosters and donkeys giving the feeling of being in the country. There is a frequent free shuttle to town but if you want to stay put the restaurant is very good with nightly specials.

I stayed for 2 weeks, and absolutely loved my stay! The staff is extremely friendly, delicious food, parking available + shuttle pick up and drop off right in front of the hotel. The view is breathtaking and the balcony I had in my room just made my stay even better. I would absolutely come again and recommend if you are looking for a safe, convenience beautiful hotel. To the staff - thank you for everything! :)

The views from our room were exceptional. The pool area was lovely, again with fantastic views. The staff were all super friendly and helpful if we needed anything. The Shuttle bus from the hotel was also great as a taxi to the main town was quite pricey.

The food was abysmal! The free breakfast was mediocre at best, the dinner was disgusting, it makes me gag remembering it. We stayed in 4 star hotels in Rome, Sorrento, and Venice on this vacation, all around the same price per night (Rome was the least expensive) and this was by far the worst hotel not only on this trip, but that we’ve had as a family. There is a bus that goes to the center once per hour, otherwise there’s no way to get down. It was never on time, and there are times when it doesn’t run at all. The sheets are like sand paper, the furnishings are ugly, the shower had strands of hair on the wall. The toilet paper holder was 4 feet from the toilet, so you have to get up to get paper while using the restroom. Also, there were animals braying outside our window, so forget about sleeping in! It very much dampened our Sorrento experience!

The location is clean and the view is spectacular, however it is very inconveniently located. There is absolutely nothing within walking distance. You need to take a bus which isn’t really frequent enough and is so crowded you will likely stand on the dangerous curved 15 minute ride to the hotel, even if you arrive 20 minutes before the scheduled departure. The pool and pool area are small and crowded- it was rare we were able to get lounge chairs. The staff is very nice and the included breakfast is good.

The pool area is beautiful and the views are unreal! The restaurant had good food and the breakfast was great! However, the lobby and rooms are extremely dated and there is damage on walls that need to be fixed. As well, our room had a very stale smell.

Arrived and check-in was easy. Once we were in the room we were very pleased with the balcony as advertised as a valley view you could also easily see the sea which was a nice surprise. The room was simple for a 4*. There was no full length mirror, no iron and no where to hang towels. Also because the room card has a chip in it, it has to be that card used to activate power in the room which meant when we’re out for the day the fridge was off. The bed was surprisingly comfy and spacious however the rooms aren’t remotely sound proofed even though their advertising states they are. We could hear every conversation from the rooms next to us and above. We were lucky that our neighbours were courteous and weren’t playing music etc but you could hear every flush, shower and chair being moved in the rooms next door and it did affect our sleep. The breakfast buffet was lovely and never a problem getting a seat and the staff always ensure the food is kept stocked up. One of the reasons we booked this hotel was the advertisement of amble free parking. There isn’t a lot of parking (only about 16 spots) and most evenings some guests were having to park on the road. There also isn’t any car charging places which they advertise there is. This wasn’t an issue for us as we didn’t have an electric car but may be an issue if you’re relying on it. Overall it’s an OK hotel. Would have appreciated a more accurate advert as noise especially affected our holiday.
