The Westin Excelsior, Rome

Closet in the room very musty. Hallways very dark. Front desk very good. Bar area very good service. Nice people work there.

Everything felt old and dirty. At times water went cold. When I sat in lobby food in couches. Needs an update

This is a fabulous old world hotel that is in need of modernisation in parts. Great location. Staff are attentive, especially Riccardo at the front desk. Was surprised by how some guests were dressed in the hotel; pyjamas at breakfast not appropriate.

Very clean, staff was very nice and helpful.

Room needs a coat of paint and new carpet. Staff very good and helpful. Breakfast buffet lots of items and selection. Hot items were cold need to be hotter.

television was ancient and could not get any decent stations or movies. No place to get a drink except in bars and restaurants. Room and hotel is aesthetically beautiful.

Spacious rooms!!!

Staff very helpful but rooms are tired. We were on the 3rd floor and a lot of street noise overnight

Classy, centrally located hotel. We enjoyed our stay and the breakfast was good. Instant coffee not what we like but we put up with it for two days.

Everything was great except for the TV service they have. Tv is old and don’t have smart tv options

I travelled with my family (two adults, three children, one grandparent). The connecting rooms with great. The kids loved the pool to escape the summer heat!

Nice hotel great staff

Just gorgeous from the first night to the last. The concierge helped us so many times - getting taxis, arranging for a trip to the beach. We are a family of 5, and had 2 adjoining rooms....it was just perfect for us. Huge lobby, breakfast was delightful.

The hotel was really outdated and excessively overpriced. Decoration was very shabby and very uncomfortable bed. I was overcharged substantially and promised repayment. This should not happen in a supposedly luxury hotel.

Location was fabulous and the front desk/valet staff was outstanding. Breakfast staff were rude and more concerned with making sure we paid/signed the bill than making sure we had everything we needed for the meal. At one point one of us just wanted to drop off a vitamin for someone else in the family who was eating and they were trying to charge us even though we weren't eating. We were also surprised with the condition on the room. While overall it was comfortable and clean the room was very worn down compared to previous Westin hotels we have stayed in. The shower also kept flooding the bathroom and into the hall no matter how many towels we put down on the floor. Just very surprising for a Westin.
