Beppu Hostel U&T

We booked two rooms: one for two adults, and a family room for three adults and two kids under 10. Upon arrival, the male manager refused to let all five of us stay in the family room, claiming we didn’t include the kids in the booking—even though the listing said children stayed free. We offered to pay for an extra room, but he said none were available and insisted he couldn’t help because he was working overtime. His tone was cold and accusatory, offering no real solution. We asked to pay for two extra pax in the family room, and he told us to wait while he looked into it. We waited over an hour without updates. Out of options, we contacted Traveloka, who also asked us to wait another hour. With two young kids and three elderly adults waiting in the lobby, tired and hungry, we finally gave up. Only my mother and the kids used the family room. My husband and I had to book another hotel nearby. Even then, the manager scolded us for briefly entering the family room to help settle our family. He refused to give us the room key until we insisted. Later, when I helped my kids get water, he again scolded me, saying he was “monitoring us.” The experience was humiliating and stressful, despite us having valid bookings and trying to cooperate. In all my years of traveling, I have never felt so humiliated or unwelcome—this was the most distressing service experience I've ever endured.

Extremely large room with separate WC and shower. 4 twin beds provided in the room (though bedding provided is based on occupancy) so ample space for the family. Even has a dining table and kitchenette. Kids were entertained in the common area with Nintendo consoles and free-flow beverages. Free parking provided in the compound. Location is convenient - a few hundred meters to a Don Quijote (for late night shopping) and a short 15 min drive to the Hells of Beppu. Overall very good value and highly recommended for families with young children.

Very good, good price, located in the city, not far from Don Quijote and Beppu Tower. Will definitely come back again.

Must book! *Hotel is easy to locate, just 5-10 minute-walk from the station and in just 3 turns. *You can leave your baggage in the morning and go on your tour and check in in the evening. *Easy check-in with polite staff doing the orientation of all he freebies you can enjoy. *Free-flowing hot and cold drinks I the lobby, has a shared microwave and ref in the common room, free use of slippers for indoors and outdoors, has lots of brochures and guides around the city, free use of iron, bath towel and bags are in the common room to bring to outside * we booked a room for 4 and got a room with 6 twin beds.very nice and clean room with stove, ref, kitchen. we had an amazing stay and only regret is that we shluld have stayed longer. 'will definitely recommend and come back again.

Very good, excellent, very comfortable, really convenient

the hostel looks exactly as shown in photos. and the room for 3 is super huge!! so comfortable. with dining table and mini kitchen. the location is superb too. so near to the city area. the staffs are professional and friendly too! super strongly recommended!!
