Right next to Kyoto Station and has a 7&i in the lobby, in line with this chain so it was very convenient . I love VIA INN hotels and would totally come back.

If you have high standards for a hotel then this one ain't for you. Fairly comparable to a holiday inn. The hotel is nice and clean but just be aware of what the hotel does not offer/have. The front desk staff are great!

You can go around the corner and be at an elevator to get to the Shinkansen gate at the Kyoto Station. We stayed five nights and the room served the purpose. Breakfast places in the area do not open till 9 or 10, so plan on eating at a convience store or one of the hotel dining. Breakfast was more expensive in Kyoto than all other cities we went in Japan. This hotel has some Western items as choices but mostly Asian.

It is near the JR station and there is a 7 eleven just next to the hotel. Hotel guests can enter the 7 eleven via a special entrance. Sound proofing in the room is excellent as our room is near the lift but we never hear any noise outside.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Disappointed with the amenities offered - very basic. Only coffee mugs provided in the room (no glasses), no daily water bottles. Size of the room was excellent. Pillows rock hard!

Fairly standard hotel. Online check in check out was easy but very impersonal and you felt like a number. I suppose that’s Japan for you, some things are very robotic and others are very different. Can’t complain as the hotel served its purpose of a sleep and shower services. Very close to station which was a bonus but in hindsight would’ve stayed closer to the action

Though.. we had better breakfast at other hotels with better food options for breakfast.

I had two separate reservations and they were able to combine it into one so I didn't have to check out. Leave my bags and check back into another room. I've always loved coming to VIS INN hotels.
