Rihga Gran Kyoto

I booked this hotel because of positive reviews... Convenient location but that's about it. Firstly, housekeeping was very sloppy. I came back to a dusty room, items on the floor by the bedside table, no amenities refilled, or cleaned yukata (despite mine was taken away). I asked twice about luggage transfer and was told to bring my luggages down for assistance. I took them down the day before checkout. I was told I had to fill out a form, which is fine, although I wish I was made aware of that because I could have completed the form at night instead of in the morning when I was trying to sightsee. I asked if they could measure and weigh my luggages but they said no, which was bizarre considering Sawaga set in the confirmation that they may charge extra if the size and weight exceeds the limit. If you have credits from a third-party booking platform, you need to ask for them specifically because I was not offered the credits when I checked in. I appreciate the coffee bar (from 10:00 a.m. onwards) but I didn't think the breakfast buffet was worth 2,800 yen. I think my experience here fell short and the service was mediocre at best.

The hotel is 3 min walk from Kyoto Station and 5 min walk from Aeon mall. It's clean and well maintained. The room is a bit small, but cosy. Bathroom is clean and has separate amenities. Free drinks and sweets are provided. The staff is very friendly, polite and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

Excellent hotel with very friendly and exceptionally helpful staff. Getting around was very easy and convenient. We had a very comfortable stay and would happily stay here again.

Did not try any meals here. Staff were great. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Wish they had more washing machines. Loved the complimentary drinks. Great location for access to Kyoto station.

The place was very high standard, very clean and well maintained. Staff were super helpful and you are quite spoiled for amenities. Great value for money.

The front desk staff Adachi is the best! He’s very helpful and attentive, he made the experience much better

Breakfast was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean. Beds were nice. Shower was awesome.

Great room - more space than expected, super close to the train, very very clean. Pretty good breakfast - not as much vegetable selection though as other hotels we stayed at.

This hotel offers spacious rooms and a quiet atmosphere. The breakfast buffet features a mix of Japanese and Western-style dishes. It’s conveniently located near Kyoto Station and the airport bus.

This hotel is practically new and very clean. However it is very small and tiny. The closet is like a shoe box. And there is no actual drawer or place to put your clothes aside the suitcases you bring them in. I wish I knew was I was signing up for before booking it. The breakfast is also terrible. No varieties. I could have gone 711 which have better selections than adding breakfast to the hotel. I stayed in another hotel in Japan; Tokyo to be precise before going to Kyoto. The room was so huge, better selections of breakfast, buffet also like this. My honest opinion is that my experience here was so underwhelming.

Nice boutique hotel with contemporary design conveniently located within a few minutes walking distance from Kyoto station. The breakfast buffet had a nice spread and everything was fresh. We enjoyed the drink station which offered wide variety of coffee and soft drinks although I wish they had coca cola and/or offered a cocktail hour.

Breakfast was good spread

Room was amazing. Unfortunately we could only get the double twin beds so it ate into our space but the location was amazing, it has very good air conditioning. The bathroom was amazing and the highlight of the room!!! Hotel is 3-4 mins from the station and only 1 exit away from the nishiki market… suuuuper convenient!!! My Tokyo hotel was not that great but if I ever come back I’m staying here again for sure!!!

I didn’t have breakfast but I enjoyed the service of free soft drinks and dessert.

Staff was very helpful. I had lost my earphones and had already moved on to Osaka and Hiroshima. I contacted staff and they were very responsive and communicated well even holding the earphones for a couple of days until I could return to pick them up.

Wonderful hotel! Great location and the staff were amazing.
