More about hotels in Lolgorian
About Lolgorian
Lolgorian is a small town in Trans Mara West Sub-County, Narok County, Kenya, on the western edge of the Maasai Mara ecosystem. Traveloka's "Lolgorian" hotel listings are almost entirely safari camps and lodges spread across this side of the Mara, including the Kimintet and Angata Barikoi areas - genuinely upscale properties, so expect premium pricing rather than budget options.
Getting to Lolgorian
From within Kenya
Most visitors fly from Nairobi's Wilson Airport to one of several small airstrips serving the Maasai Mara (such as Kichwa Tembo, Ol Kiombo, or Musiara), roughly an hour's flight, then transfer to their lodge by road. Driving directly from Nairobi takes around 5-6 hours.
Arriving from abroad
International visitors fly into Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) in Nairobi, then connect via Wilson Airport to a Maasai Mara airstrip, or continue by road.
Where to Stay
With around 25 properties listed, options include:
- Angama Mara All Inclusive and Kinara, A Luxury Collection Safari Camp, Masai Mara - high-end safari camps.
- Little Governors Camp and Governors' IL Moran Camp - well-known camps in the wider Mara ecosystem.

Things to Do in the Area
This western side of the Maasai Mara, known as the Mara Triangle, is generally less crowded than the main Sekenani Gate side reached from Narok town. Game drives here offer strong wildlife viewing year-round, and if you're visiting between roughly August and October, this is one of the best areas to witness the wildebeest migration's Mara River crossings.
Local Tips
The local currency is the Kenyan shilling (KES), though Traveloka displays and books hotel rates in USD - most safari camps here operate on an all-inclusive or near-all-inclusive basis. Kenya's emergency number is 999 (112 also works).
Entry Requirements Note
Since 2024, Kenya requires nearly all visitors to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) online before arrival, replacing the previous visa-free and visa-on-arrival systems for most nationalities. Always confirm current requirements for your nationality before booking.
Best Time to Visit
Kenya's drier months, June through October, are generally best for game viewing, with the wildebeest migration's river crossings typically peaking from August into October. December through February is also comfortable, while the long rains (March-May) and shorter rains (November) can make roads harder going.
