We're soo satisfied with our stay here. The room was spacious and clean. Amazing view from our window, we could see a massive, well-maintained garden and Londoner Big Ben. The check-in process was really smooth, the receptionist was super helpful and friendly. Bus stops just outside the hotel. We had the best stay in Macau 🇲🇴 thank you for your hospitality 👍

The staff is very thoughtful. I left my charger in the room, and when I got back, the housekeeping team had already helped me tie them up and keep them neat. Later on at night, they also helped make up the room. Special shout-out to the housekeeping team for making our stay more comfortable and for providing a very cute doll to take home. Thankful also for the staff who helped take and send our luggage to the room when we were checking in. And thank you to front office Amy, who helped check us in. And Glenda, who helped introduce us with a smile and patience about the gym equipment and gave us a little tour of the place. Thank you to the staff near the elevator who always helped us press the elevator button and always greeted us with a smile. Also for the concierge team for helping us store our luggage on the check-out date and helped us call a cab when they saw us having a lot of things to carry. And lastly, the breakfast is great; there is a lot of great selection of food, and the service is great. The staff always asked us if we wanted to drink something and made it for us, even though there were already a lot of drinks at the drinks station that we could choose from. All in all, it's a great experience staying at Conrad Macao, and if I have the opportunity, I'd like to stay there again someday.

Very comfortable hotel. Special thanks to Front desk staff Edgar for making efforts to help us locate a Japanese restaurant nearby, as well as helping us to arrange transport, seeing I have an elderly mum. The driver sending us to the bridge is also very helpful, assisting us with the process of crossing the border, buying bus tickets, and immigration. The staff always help us with the luggage. Thumbs up to their excellent service. All the staff are attentive and friendly, hotels are big, clean, and comfortable. Going around is easy and just beside Sands Hotel. We'll stay here again if going to Macau.

More about hotels in Macau SAR

Macau SAR: A Fusion of East and West on the South China Coast

Macau SAR presents a unique proposition for international travellers, offering a captivating blend of Portuguese colonial heritage and vibrant Chinese culture, all set against a backdrop of modern luxury and entertainment. Unlike other destinations in Macau Sar, Macau SAR provides a distinctively European flavour, evident in its architecture, cuisine, and street names, yet it remains deeply rooted in its Asian identity. This duality creates a fascinating travel experience, where visitors can explore historic churches and cobblestone streets in the morning and indulge in world-class casinos and shopping in the afternoon. The region's diverse character is most apparent when exploring its distinct neighbourhoods. From the glittering resorts of Cotai, designed to rival Las Vegas, to the charming, historic streets of Sé and Santo Antonio, and the more laid-back atmosphere of Taipa, each area offers a different facet of Macau SAR. Travellers can choose to stay amidst the bustling entertainment hubs or opt for a quieter base that still provides easy access to the city's main attractions. Understanding these differences is key to crafting a personalised Macau SAR itinerary. With a starting price of just USD 19.62 per night and an impressive average review score of 8.6 from over 87,000 reviews, Macau SAR stands out as a destination offering significant value for international visitors. For travellers from the United States and Europe, this translates to the possibility of experiencing luxury accommodation and fine dining at a fraction of the cost they might expect. Indian travellers, often seeking family-friendly options and good connectivity, will find Macau SAR to be an accessible and rewarding destination, while those from Africa can appreciate its regional proximity and the growing number of flight connections. The accommodation landscape in Macau SAR is as varied as its cultural influences. Iconic establishments like The Venetian Macao, with its canals and gondolas, and the opulent Grand Lisboa Palace Macau, exemplify the grand scale of entertainment and hospitality available. These properties are not merely places to stay but destinations in themselves, offering a comprehensive experience that caters to a wide range of international tastes and preferences, making it easy to book hotel stays that suit any travel style. Ultimately, Macau SAR appeals to a broad spectrum of global travellers. Those from the United States might be drawn to the high-octane entertainment and luxury shopping. European visitors often seek the rich history and unique cultural fusion, exploring the UNESCO World Heritage sites and savouring the Macanese cuisine. Indian families frequently look for value, entertainment, and convenient travel options, while travellers from African nations can find Macau SAR to be an exciting and increasingly accessible international hub, offering a taste of global sophistication.

Best Areas to Stay in Macau SAR

Macau SAR is a destination that rewards exploration, and choosing where to base yourself significantly shapes your experience. The city is a mosaic of distinct neighbourhoods, each offering a unique atmosphere, from the dazzling entertainment districts to the serene historical quarters. For international visitors, understanding these differences is crucial for finding accommodation that aligns with their travel style, whether they seek non-stop excitement, cultural immersion, or a tranquil retreat.

Cotai

Cotai is Macau SAR's modern entertainment and casino hub, a purpose-built district on reclaimed land that pulsates with energy. This is where you'll find the mega-resorts, extravagant shopping malls, and world-class entertainment venues that have put Macau SAR on the global map. For travellers from the United States and Europe seeking the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas or the integrated resorts of Singapore, Cotai offers a familiar yet distinctly Macanese experience. Its sheer scale and variety of attractions make it a self-contained destination. Getting to Cotai is straightforward, with Macau International Airport (MFM) located nearby, offering convenient transfers. The area is well-connected by a network of free shuttle buses provided by the resorts, making it easy to navigate between hotels, casinos, and shopping centres. For those looking to explore beyond the resorts, taxis are readily available. Visitors can easily book attractions within the resorts or venture out to experience the wider city, with many of Cotai's offerings designed to keep guests entertained for days.

Sé, often referred to as Macau SAR City Centre, is the historical and cultural heart of the region. This is where the UNESCO World Heritage sites are concentrated, including the iconic Ruins of St. Paul's and Senado Square. For European travellers with a keen interest in history and architecture, Sé offers an immersive journey into Macau SAR's colonial past. The area is characterized by its charming cobblestone streets, pastel-coloured buildings, and a more relaxed pace compared to the bustling Cotai strip, providing a rich cultural backdrop. This district is easily accessible from Macau International Airport (MFM) via taxi or public bus, with journey times typically around 20-30 minutes. Within Sé, walking is the best way to explore its many historical landmarks and discover hidden culinary gems. For travellers looking to delve deeper into the local culture and history, there are numerous opportunities to book attractions that showcase Macau SAR's unique heritage, from museum visits to guided walking tours that bring the past to life.

Santo Antonio

Santo Antonio, also part of Macau SAR City Centre, offers a blend of historical charm and local life, sitting adjacent to the more tourist-heavy Sé district. It provides a slightly more authentic glimpse into daily life in Macau SAR, with a mix of residential buildings, local markets, and smaller shops alongside some notable heritage sites. This area might appeal to travellers from Europe or India who appreciate experiencing a destination beyond the main tourist trails, offering a more grounded perspective on the city. This district is well-served by public buses, making it easy to reach from Macau International Airport (MFM) and other parts of the city. Many of the hotels here, like the Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16, are situated along the waterfront, offering pleasant views and convenient access to both historical sites and the modern casino developments. Exploring Santo Antonio allows visitors to discover local eateries and experience the everyday rhythm of Macau SAR, away from the concentrated tourist crowds.

São Lázaro

São Lázaro is one of Macau SAR's oldest districts, retaining much of its traditional charm and historical character. It's a quieter area, less dominated by large resorts and more focused on heritage preservation, featuring narrow lanes, traditional houses, and local temples. This neighbourhood is particularly suited for travellers from Europe who are drawn to authentic cultural experiences and a slower pace of exploration. It offers a stark contrast to the modern developments in Cotai, showcasing Macau SAR's enduring historical legacy. Access to São Lázaro is typically via taxi or local bus from Macau International Airport (MFM) or other transport hubs. While it may not have the immediate tourist infrastructure of other districts, its appeal lies in its authenticity. Visitors can wander through its streets, discover local artisan shops, and experience a more intimate side of Macau SAR. It's an area where one can truly appreciate the historical layers of the region, offering a peaceful respite for those seeking cultural depth.

Taipa

Taipa offers a unique blend of old and new, with its charming Taipa Village providing a glimpse into Macau SAR's past, while the surrounding areas feature modern residential developments and entertainment facilities. Taipa Village, with its colourful colonial buildings, boutique shops, and diverse culinary scene, is particularly attractive to travellers from India and Europe looking for a picturesque and gastronomically rich experience. It offers a more intimate and walkable environment compared to the sprawling resorts of Cotai. Taipa is conveniently located near Macau International Airport (MFM), making it an accessible choice for many travellers. Public buses and taxis provide easy connections to other parts of Macau SAR. The village itself is best explored on foot, allowing visitors to savour its atmosphere and sample its renowned eateries. For those interested in experiencing Macau SAR's vibrant food culture, Taipa Village is an essential stop, offering a delightful array of local and international flavours.

São Lourenço

São Lourenço, situated on the southern tip of the Macau Peninsula, is an area known for its elegant residential buildings, lush greenery, and significant historical landmarks, including the Moorish Barracks and the A-Ma Temple. This district offers a more refined and tranquil atmosphere, appealing to travellers from Europe and the United States who appreciate a sophisticated urban environment with a strong historical presence. It provides a sense of calm and exclusivity, away from the main tourist thoroughfares. This area is accessible by public bus and taxi from Macau International Airport (MFM) and other key locations. While it may not have the extensive entertainment options of Cotai, its appeal lies in its historical significance and scenic beauty. Nice hotel, big room, big bed, hot bath tub, hot water, nice view. Five star highly recommended hotel. Great location, near Venetian, Londoner, and Parisian. The strips of Macau, just like strips in Vegas. Malls just downstairs, restaurants and shops everywhere. A perfect place to stay. Definitely will come back.
