Booked this place for my dad and his friends and they totally loved it! Morning market, great hawker food, streets stalls just around the corner great for earlybird like them. Few landmarks within 10mins drive, town area in just 20mins. Hotel building may looked small but dont be fool by it! Room was spacious, clean environments no less than 5stars hotel. Service was great too. Highly recommended of you are here to penang.

I was asked to pay for extra for early check in. I understand they have check in time at 3pm, but as a guest to feel the unwelcome rejection to the face was not a pleasant experience to have. I was arrived at the property past 12 noon, and i was rejected to check in my room on my face unless I pay the extra (early check in). However the receipt was later review that and allowed me to checked in around 130pm (she wrote down foc early chk in 130pm on my room card enclosure). Seriously, I do not usually have this kind of experience in any other hotel includes 3-5 stars facility. This is my 2nd experience in Penang hotel within the same trip. But I never had similar encounter in other cities or countries. The bed was not very good also, it seems like it is conjoint of 2 single bed into one, where i could easily hit the center "hard-bone“ in between the 2 beds. However I must compliment a few good things about my stay, the location is wonderful, plenty of local foods and market available, I never had any issues to get food here. The TV has many programs and channels to browse from , particularly Netflix my fav. the view of the mt also. Just a little thing the rooftop was totally occupied by the restaurant, would please if there a free space for their guest to view and appreciates top view from the building.

Serene view of hills and nearby villages. Very old world charm. Had a pleasent stay. However, bathroom floor had plenty of dust worm coming off when in contact with water. Spring mattress is badly worn. Suggest better bathroom maintenance and change of mattress.

the hotel staff are friendly and helpful. location is strategically convenient, is at ayer itam morning market and few minutes walk to kek lok so. the room is spacious and bed is thick and comfy. Aircon is cooling and shower water is strong. however, found a minor stain on the toilet bowl, able to wash away, hope cleaner will be more careful. overall is a pleasant stay with a nice view of mountain.

Cleanliness needs improvement, please take it seriously and deal with it. I expect the cleanliness to improve. Dust can be easily seen in the cloakroom, hair and dust can be easily seen on the floor and carpet, the pillows have a peculiar smell, and the sheets have traces of dirt. The sound insulation effect of the room is not good. People talking in the corridor and cell phone ringing can be clearly heard in the room. The attitude of the receptionist and all service staffs was very good. Thank you for their patience in solving the problem for me quickly. The bed was large and very comfortable, the air conditioner was operating normally, the lights were sufficient, the water pressure in the bathroom was very good, and the outside environment was beautiful. The buffet hot pot restaurant is located on the top floor, and the outdoor lighting and environment are really amazing. Overall, comfortable and good. Looking forward to our next encounter! Finally, thanks for everything.

This is not my 1st stay in Deview. Planning to swift to other hotel in near future if happen to travel to Penang. 1) The hotel staff named: Geraldine is un-friendly and bad attitude, found her sitting playing with phone. 2) We had a continual stay (3 days 2 nights) in a row & same room, but were unable to scan at the lift on Day2. Referred to Geraldine, she required us to validate the room card & saying is the a procedure at the hotel. 3) Aircon in room 330 is not cold.
