Santo Refugio Heritage Hotel

First of all, the best thing about this hotel is the wonderful hostess at the desk. She made me feel at home there, even though I didn't speak much spanish at all. We had a nice slow conversation when I first got there, not just about the hotel, but about music. I felt so at home from the minute I arrived! There was a wedding going on while I was there which made me feel so happy. I was there alone and enjoyed the sounds of joy so much. The beds were top notch comfy and the room was very clean and spacious. I slept so well! The terrace overlooked a beautiful garden area, and it was so peaceful. If you're looking for somewhere super nice and comfortable and spacious, this is the one. The people there are warm and welcoming, and the room was superb. I'm very glad I stayed there. I even stayed a night longer than I planned because I loved it so much.

Great Service

This is the 2nd time we have stayed here. The staff are great and rooms are large and comfortable with king size beds. The hotel is pet friendly, but wanted 950 pesos for our dog for a one night stay which was more than the cost of the room. We had the charge reduced, but if we had known before how much the cost would be, we would not have stayed there. Last time , a year ago, the charge was much less.

It was a nice stay over all. The pool was very important to us and it was very good. It's not a heated pool, so in the winter months I wouldn't be able to swim in it. Property is nice and well taken care of. We came to lawn mover working for 2 hours by our door. Check in was fast and easy and we were the only guests in the hotel, which brings me to few problems: We wanted to use a pool. Went to the pool and realized that there were no towels. We went back and asked for towels. 20 minutes later my husband went back and asked again and they finally give him towels. In the morning we asked for coffee and tea and they said they going to make it now ( there is no complimentary coffee in the room) 15 min later we decided to go to the pool( remembering yesterday'stowel service) we figured they just forgot. As soon as we got into the pool they brought coffee and hot cup of water and left it outside on the table. We were wet. It was cold outside, so we just continued to finish morning swim. We drank cold coffee and the tea didn't even steep in cold water. That is not a good service, especially if you are charging money for it and we are only guests on the property. The floor in the toom is very!!! dirty. Our feet were all black, you can see it on the mat by the bathroom. The sink didn't drain. Hot water ends before you able to wash all soap off. The cleaning of the room should be better. The synthetic bed sheets-not a good choice. Tiny TV very far from the bed is not a great choice.

The property is a lovely oasis, but what makes the place stand out is the staff. We were treated extremely well—like invited guests. Ana is marvellous, as is the rest of the staff. I can’t rave about them enough.

Amazing place. Family run hotel with great attention to detail and extremely friendly and welcoming staff. Huge gardens with gym and swimming pool. Foods delicious and it's extremely relaxing with a view of the volcano. Highly recommend 10/10.

It was a wonderful experience, a warm welcome by the staff and pets ( a dog and a cat), the room was very spacious, and the decor was lovely. It made me feel I was like I was in my own house.

We booked the accommodation same day of arrival and the manager was extremely helpful. On arrival we were so warmly greeted and made to feel so welcome with our three large dogs who are traveling with us. The hotel is spotless with a large garden where the pups were permitted to roam freely. Dinner was simply delicious with friendly service. We have truly been able to relax after many days on the road.

El personal muy atento y serviciales pero no es un hotel es una casa que la están adaptando para hotel y falta experiencia en los temas de lo indispensable en la habitación no dejaron papel higiénico pusieron las toallas mojadas a que se secaran en la cama no entendí como hicieron la habitación

A nice house with a beautiful garden, the dining room very nice decorated, however the room a little bit weird with chandelier lamps and dark blue velvert bed.

Estuvimos muy contentos! La atención del staff es muy personalizada, están pendientes de las necesidades de los huéspedes. La comida muy rica. Habitaciones con salida directa al jardín para las mascotas. Muchas gracias! Excelente proyecto!
