This might be the most beautiful place I've ever stayed in. If not it is in the top 3. The details are amazing. We stayed in the ambassador suite and it was spacious... and gorgeous! There are stairs to the bathroom so keep that in mind if you have mobility issues. The staff are nice and helpful. Special shout out to Samma and Hammid. You are close to the Medina but can still be dropped off by car and get out of town quickly. Staying here was one of the highlights of our trip

ChatGPT recommended us this hotel based on our short trip and said that we would get lost in the labyrinth of alleys in Fes Medina. I am glad that we listened as for first time travelers is not easy to find your way inside Medina. This Riad is located just 5 minutes walk from Fes Medina. It is easy accessible with foot and you can carry your luggage to it. The Riad is a palace with a very beautiful rooftop where they serve breakfast and optional dinner (separate booking needed). They also arranged for a local tour which costs around 10€ per person per hour. Our guide was very good and showed us around Fes and how to navigate those narrow alleys. We were done in just under 2 hours including the tour to the tannery. The folks working at the Riad are helpful and very courteous.

Riad Fes Maya is a stunningly beautiful building. The room we had was ornate and spacious, but dark. Natural light filtered in from the courtyard at the expense of privacy, a concept implicitly understood by the other guests. We enjoyed dinner on the rooftop deck twice during our stay and found breakfasts enjoyable as long as we could stay out of the hot late May sun and out of the glass enclosed room where most guests sat. Staying here in late spring was a constant challenge to stay cool. The woman running the Riad, Sama, is pleasant but not always helpful, despite her well-meaning efforts. The Medina tour she arranged was free but consisted in substantial part of visits to shops where pressure to buy goods was palpable. She told us the Medina was gated and closed at 7 pm each night preventing anyone from entering or leaving, which was not true, as we has dinner inside it our second night, escorted to and from another riad by a bellboy. Our departure to another hotel in time for a rendezvous at 9 am was nearly missed, despite being reserved ~3 months in advance, due to understaffing. All in all we enjoyed our stay as a bit of an adventure. Hearing the call to prayer on the rooftop deck from mosques all across the Medina was an experience not to be missed.

This was a good stay for the price. The interiors were beautiful and breakfast on the roof is lovely but a little slow. The beds were a little hard and rooms were bright and loud at night since they face the main entry. We were also put off that we were warned by guides multiple times prior to even arriving that we may be offered a ‘free’ tour and asks us to cancel already booked ones which could be a scam. We were offered a free tour which we declined as we already had other tours booked. The hotel also offered to arrange transport to the airport. The location was about 10 minute walk to a the main parts. The spa prices seemed a lot higher than what we paid in Marrakesh so we did not try the spa. Overall, good for price but did not exceed expectations

Facility is dingy, they need to turn lights on and get air flow through the facility. Many other Riads have air freshening machines. Additionally, We had an early morning flight and had to use the flash lights on our phone to navigate the hallways. The breakfast and supper was stale and lacked flavour. The wood work, ceilings, doors, etc. are remarkable but the facility needs a renovation and is poorly run. What is identified as a shower in the room description is simply a nozzle in the bathtub. This is a 2 star facility.

Overall we enjoyed our stay in Fes. The riad makes a great first impression—the courtyard is beautiful, and the rooftop has great views and is a really nice spot for breakfast. Our room on the main level wasn’t ideal. The windows opened straight into the lobby, so it didn’t feel very private, and we could hear a lot of conversation through the vents (and assumed the same the other way). The bathroom also had some issues. The shower wasn’t really usable without water spraying everywhere, and the space isn’t set up well for that. The staff were friendly and helpful overall. That said, some of the upselling felt a bit deceptive, which took away slightly from the experience.

I spent three nights in this hotel, which was first built in the 14th century (I was told). I appreciate the room upgrade they offered. The upgraded room (a suite) is located on the 1st floor. It is a huge, very clean room with a flight of stairs inside. Both the dressing room and the bathroom/toilet can only be reached via the stairs. The problems are that the stairs were based on the original structure built in the 14th century, meaning the height of each step is not even. And, my wife has bad knees, and she struggled mightily going up and down each time she needed to use the loo. Sadly, they were fully booked, and we couldn't switch back to a regular room. I appreciate the staff for upgrading us to this suite. However, be mindful of it if you, too, have knee or mobility issues. The only other issue I have is the lack of power sockets in the room. I searched high and low. There was only a single socket in the entire room. So please bring an extension cord or something. Otherwise, the interior of the entire hotel is great, clean and grand-looking.

The staff was just marvellous. From the time we came to left, we were treated both royally and as a family. No ask was too big, everything we requested, was fulfilled. The room we got was 2-level. It was spacious, beautiful and had Antique/elegant look. The beds were comfortable. The meals served were marvellous. Morning breakfast was not to be missed: fresh juices, fruits, pancakes, jams, yogurts, omelettes, cakes, etc. if we had to go early, they packed takeout snacks. Again, they tried to anticipate our needs and help meet it. Dinner was A La Carte or meal menu. Good choic s. Home cooked by the owner’s mom. The food was marvellous. Everyone in our group enjoyed what they ordered.
