Riad Tahyra

We had an excellent stay. The accommodations were great. We had one bedroom with a nice shower, air conditioning, and wifi. The hosts were incredibly kind and accommodating with a little bit of a language barrier but that’s what Google translate is for. We had a lovely breakfast buffet the next morning in the courtyard. The location was slightly difficult to find but a nice woman pointed us in the right direction. Although most people were kind and helpful, keep your guard up. While exploring the Medina on our way to the secret garden we did have someone scam us for money. All that to be said the Riad Tahyra was great and we would definitely stay here again.

Nutshell: stay here if you want to have food poisoning for your entire trip. Riad interior: ok interior, but water feature switched off so pictured looked much better than in real life, sun lounges without cushions, so just metal frames. A few yards to choose from if you want to sit in hotel. Breakfast: limited choices and we got food poisoning from eating their gone-off yogurt/orange juice/spread. (Note: still disputing with Expedia as this riad refused to refund us or have any sort of compensation for the inconvenience - we were literally projectile vomiting everywhere.) Food: claimed to serve food (menu in room), but didn’t order any due to food poisoning experience. Room: no kettle, no mini fridge, and no live TV. Need to insert your own Netflix login to watch anything (which was fine). Room is ok in size, but extremely dimmed. Doors are locked with pad lock (those for regular lockers), so anyone could’ve broken in. To enter riad, you must ring the buzzer, not ideal Location: inconvenient location - inaccessible by car. Felt unsafe getting to hotel. There were always a lot of random men sitting around outside the riad. Unsure about the safety getting back at night. Taxi: claimed to offer taxi arrangements, but failed to respond to me despite multiple attempts - via email and Expedia messages. Will not recommend and will certainly not return. We had book another night, but we had to make alternative arrangement at our own expense. Terrible start to our trip.

It was an enjoyable experience

Great staff and very clean property. As soon as you walk in it feels peaceful and safe. The rooms were great and we really enjoyed the breakfast.

Our stay was awesome. The staff was super nice and accommodating and made our stay very easy. The property itself is a beautiful building tucked away in the Medina. Overall very good Riad!

It was a good stay and we had a good time. on the first night the AC was not working properly and I asked them to look into it and they had it sorted the next day. overall, it was a positive experience. Special mention to Ayoub who was attentive and provided us a great experience during out stay.

Great stay, so clean and very attentive staff

A very beautiful Rial - initially we struggled to find the place, but there were some kind locals who helped us without any hesitation. Some reviews mention that you need to hire a porter in order to get to this place, personally we did not and it is not compulsory unless you are carrying a lot of luggages, then you may benefit from this. We enjoyed our stay from beginning to end - all staff members were extremely kind, helpful and welcoming. Our room was extremely beautiful and the property has all the basic amenities that you need. Room is cleaned and refreshed daily. Location wise it is about a 5-7min walk from the square and it is in the middle of the medina. It is slightly tucked away, so that you have some quiet and privacy but still within walking distance of everything. There is always someone at the reception throughout the day/night if any issues were to occur. For anyone that is considering this place - I highly recommend it and hope this review persuades you to select this riad. Me and my partner will definitely be returning.

Stayed here 5 nights and would stay again. Loved the Riad experience. Rooms creatively decorated, staff lovely.

Lovely to be in the Medina, staff very friendly and helpful. It would have been good to have a map to find it. There's no parking and options nearby are expensive so don't bring a car

We stayed at this property twice during our visit to Morocco and they looked after our main cases in-between stays. The room was good, we had a larger room on the second stay. It would have been helpful to have a map with parking . In future I wouldn't hire a car whilst staying in Marrakech

The staff members in the Riad are exceptional! Very attentive and caring. The Riad is also kept in excellent condition. Would highly recommend staying in Riad Tahyra for an authentic Moroccan experience.

Check in process was a bit longer than it should have been. After a long trip, all you want to do is relax in your room for a bit. Be aware that some rooms are on upper floors and you'll need to navigate tight staircases with your suitcase. At check in and check out, we didn't have anyone to help us. Breakfast is not included as some other cheaper riads in the area. TV in room but channels only in German for some reason. There's no sense of privacy as you can hear everything outside the room. On cold nights, heater is not enough as the rooms aren't well insulated.

The property was nice but room was freezing. Had broken heaters, a broken light in the bathroom, and people screaming next to the hotel all night so was hard to sleep. We were told light would be fixed at checkin and wasn't. Had to find a person again to fix. The heater in bathroom was broke,and one above in bedroom wasn't keeping room warm. Workers were friendly, but wouldn't recommend staying

Tres beau Riad. Nous aurions tellement aimé y passer plus de temps. La chambre et la salle de bain étaient superbes. Le patio typique et idéal. Nous ne pouvions passer qu’une nuit car nous avions un vol à 7 heure du matin donc un séjour très court qui nous fait vouloir revenir très vite dans ce Riad. Le charmant jeune homme qui nous a reçu le soir nous a emmené avant 5 heure du matin sur la place pour prendre un taxi arrangé par le Riad même. Splendide service!!!
