If I could give 6 stars I would have given it to Riad Zaouia 44, Mohamed was so thoughtful and very helpful. This was our first time visiting Marrakech, he had WhatsApp me several times to make sure I had everything I need. During our stay, he went on and beyond to help me with a lost item, even it’s not found but I really appreciate his efforts. The room we stayed was the suite, big enough for us and the two kids. The breakfast was awesome and the courtyard was just so peaceful and away from the hustling and bustling. It’s a bit walk from the Medina, about 6-8 mins but once you know the area it was easy to get around. Mohamed and his crew also helped us moved the luggage up and down the stairs. They even carried them to the car service that was stop one block away from the Raid. All and all, if u don’t mind walking an extra two mins from the center of Medina, this is def the great choice, our kids age 10 and 7 had no problem walking with us. highly recommended this Riad.

Very kind staff and beautiful decor!! It’s a little far from the market (15-20min walk) which we preferred. Quiet and peaceful like heaven and the cute little pool is a bonus :) Highly recommended if you like tranquility over convenience!!

Property was gorgeous. However could review facilities, need more than 1 bin in a large room and bathroom, no drinking water or kettle provided, no tv in room. I understand they were going for minimal look but people need to "stay" in the rooms. Hidden gem, however not ideal for just girls to stay in the medina area in general, especially having to walk up the alley to have access to the riad. It was just 2 of us girls that stayed, the men around the area would always make sleazy comments when we walked out and around the area - so uncomfortable. Once we got a little lost in the medina area and a man offered that his friend would show us the way back to our riad, when we got back to the riad he was already there and he insisted that we pay his friend, even after HE offered to help - to a point where about 6 men ganged up and wouldn't let us go into our own riad. NOT SAFE FOR JUST GIRLS. The staff really dissapointed us. They were so lovely and super friendly when we arrived. On the first night they offered to take us out for a few drinks and shisha so we all went. When we came back the manager there Moha (Mohammed) lit up the fireplace and we ate mcdonalds while he continued to drink - he had a few too many and started to get a little touchy feely which i found so inapropriate so i called it a night and we went back to our room to sleep. after that night he kept inviting us to drink, we would decline offers, he would get wound up, give us a hard time, we booked an excu

The riad is very far, about 30 min walk by the easy route. But navigating through the souks is a bit daunting but w/ a gps app you can get there eventually. The riad isn’t well signed & no no. on the entrance doors & being pestered by the local kids offering help to get there through a longer route isn’t very settling. All these is compensated by the Riad beautiful architecture & the nice staff. They’ve taken a simplistic approach to the Moroccan style w/ clean hints of the Moroccan ornamentation. The bedroom we stayed in looked very sleek & contemporary. Our room didn’t have any locks, which we found a bit strange. There was no tv in the room,it didn’t bother us, but others may think differently. The shower was great but the water hitting the floor can be very noisy to others as most of the surface are just concrete & very echoing. We felt that the sheets weren’t well cleaned as I had running nose & sneezing due to the dust-mites.We must comment about the safe which isn’t bolted to anything,so I wouldn’t recommend leaving money in the safe as it can be taken w/ no problem. There is only one bin in the room, which we used in the W.C., leaving us to use plastic bags or cotton bags(which is largely used in Marrakech)to discard rubbish. We appreciate the minimalist looks of the riad but acoustic treatment solutions are much needed as during our stay some guests had children & we could hear a lot of banging & stumping noises throughout the day so falling asleep was a challenge.

Beautiful Riad but needs some updating and a good cleaning in places. Difficult to find but manager came out to meet our taxi and gave map and cell number in case we got lost. "Welcome dinner" ad fireplace on first night were lovely. Quite chilly in morning. A bit concerning that room is not locked when we were out.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and all in all it was a decent hotel. We visited in Dec so Morocco is pretty cold during this time and the hotel itself was cold(maybe due to it being a concreted building and internal design was kept to that). Momo the night manager tried his best to assist with the evening coldness and we were very thankful to him. The owners should maybe think off acquiring more blankets or more heaters during Dec for their guests. The pick up from the airport arranged by the hotel (€15) was uneventful. Arrival at the Riad is somewhat worrying as the there is no signage at all, with a small black door and only a large knocker. Without using the arranged transfer we would never have found it. We were welcomed by Momo who was very helpful and friendly. We had requested dinner on arrival as this had been offered in a confirmation e mail from the riad along with their offer to arrange an airport pick up. Momo was oblivious to this arrangement saying they may not have received the email but it had been the same email accepting the offer of the transfer. We went out to dinner and at a restaurant he had recommended near the Jemaa. Not the best choice for our first night in Marrakech. Wifi in the hotel on the first night was not working but the wifi service was available the next morning after around 9:00am We stayed in a balcony suite overlooking the courtyard which was very spacious, the bed being super comfortable but for some the bed may have been a little too firm. The furnishings are getting rather shabby with stains on the sofa and the curtains hanging off the hooks trailing on the floor. The room was serviced daily but the rug on the floor was never cleaned during our three day stay. The simple breakfast is served either around the courtyard or on one of the roof terraces. The furniture cushions on the rooftop furniture is all white plastic. Either dirty or wet!

We had a great time in the Riad Zaouia 44: a relaxing oasis in the exciting hustle and bustle of the city. Very nice reduced and homogeneous design and the tagines of the house were the tastiest we ate during our 5 day stay in the city. Moha and his super friendly and nice team were extremely hospitable and always available for helpful advice. We recommend to use the pick up service from the airport. By taxi this can quickly become adventurous...

A la prochaine fois!
