Great hotel, location, great staff. Only difficult thing is getting to the room, they have a new section and old section. have to take two elevetators and walk in between seems like an inconvenience.

the only disadvantage of this hotel were the wooden gutters found on the floor. it makes rolling the luggages very difficult.

We loved our stay at Thon Hotel in Oslo. It’s just a 10-minute walk from the central train station, but tucked away enough to feel peaceful and calm. The location is ideal—just a few minutes from Aker Brygge, where you’ll find tons of restaurants, bars, and beautiful harbor views.
It was the perfect base for exploring the city. From morning walks along the waterfront to enjoying Oslo’s modern art, food, and even a quick fjord dip—it was all super accessible. The room was stylish, quiet, and comfortable—everything we needed after a day out and about.
There was some construction on our floor during the stay and one of the elevators was out, but it wasn’t a major inconvenience.
Would absolutely stay here again!

Hotel was nice. Reception staff were A+ polite, helpful and interested in how you were. Travelled alone with room appearing to be a large single rather than a double. It could also get quite noisy as i was on the main street above a bar. Breakfast was good but the hotel does suffer from a lack of bar.

My wife and I absolutely loved our stay at Thon Hotel Cecil. The young women at reception were fantastic and so kind and helpful. We had a couple minor issues with our room we didn't notice until the first morning, but when we told reception, they gave us a time they would look at the problems (also informed we could switch rooms if the issues weren't solvable). We walked around Oslo for a while, and when we returned, the minor issues were fixed. Couldn't be happier with the communication and assistance. The breakfast in the morning was phenomenal also. Absolutely 10/10 and if we get the chance to come back to Oslo again, would definitely stay here.

The hotel is well located in Oslo within walking distance of many of the main attractions. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and check in was straightforward. We were not informed that there was a guest lounge at the hotel. The room we had (714) was small with little circulation space or storage and looked in to the central atrium space. The range of food available at breakfast was excellent.

Can’t be any happier with our stay at Thon Cecil. Location is fantastic, direct train from airport to National Theatre Station & just a 5-7 mins straight road to the hotel. Hotel is conveniently located next to a Christmas market & walkable to many popular spots. Breakfast spread is great too, and light dinner on weekdays are good way to end the day. While room is small, zero complains since its value for money.

The hotel was very clean, beds are very comfortable, and our room was very quiet. The breakfast selection was amazing and delicious. Great location too. We were able to walk to many famous sites and the National Theatre Station is just a few minutes on foot, so easy and reasonable transportation to the airport

There is renovation going on next door. Little bit of noise from 8am. The location is perfect, easy to access. I will come back in next time visit.
