How to Get There

Godofredo P. Ramos Airport or Boracay Airport is the nearest airport to Boracay. From here, it is less than five minutes away by tricycle to Caticlan Jetty Port, where the boats going to the island are moored. If you’re a backpacker, the port is around 10 minutes on foot. Flights to Boracay via Caticlan are more expensive, but it’s faster and more convenient.

An alternative airport is the one in Kalibo - Kalibo International Airport.Flights to Kalibo are more affordable, but it includes a land travel, which takes about two hours.

Once you’ve reached the port and have paid the environmental fees and shown proof of your accommodation, you need to ride a boat going to the island. It will take about 20 minutes or so. Once you arrive, you can either ride a van going to your accommodation or ask to be picked up by your hotel’s shuttle services, if available.


Getting Around in Boracay

The best way to go around Boracay is on foot, especially along the beach and its pristine white sand. On the other hand, tricycle is a convenient way to get around if you want to explore all of Boracay. This transportation is a motorcycle attached to a closed sidecar. Or if you’re feeling adventurous, you can explore the island using an ATV (all-terrain vehicle).

White Beach is renowned for its stretch of fine, powdery white beach that stretches at almost five kilometres. It is the most famous beach in Boracay and where the beautiful sunset is seen. Aside from the famous White Beach, there are 12 more beaches you can check out including Puka Shell, Diniwid, Bulabog, Ilig-Iligan and more. They are as exceptional as the more popular one, but mostly without the crowd.


Willy's Rock

It’s hard to miss Willy’s Rock, a notable attraction when you walk along the White Beach, when in Boracay. It is one of the most photographed landmarks in the island which features an odd looking rock with a Virgin Mary statue as its focal point.


Mount Luho View Deck

Got your fill of water-related activities? Did you know there are caves you can explore in Boracay? There’s Bat Cave, Crystal Cave, and Buslugan Cave. Or you can check out Mount Luho, the highest peak in the island of Boracay. Located in Bulabog, there are two viewing decks available. From its deck, you can see a panoramic 360 view of the entire island. One deck also has a mini zoo where you can see different species of birds, monkeys, and more.


Where to Stay in Boracay

Enjoy the ultimate comfort in a luxury hotel in Boracay or live more like a local by booking a hostel or a guesthouse. There are four stations in the island where you can stay, depending on your budget. Most of the luxury hotels and resorts in Boracay are located in Station 1. As such, it is less crowded and the sand is more pristine than in any other parts of Boracay.

A cheaper alternative to Station 1 is Station 3, where lodging houses are more budget-friendly. It has a very laid back atmosphere. But if you want to be at the heart of the action, Station 2 is home to numerous entertainment hubs, restaurants, and bars.


Nightlife in Boracay

While not as lively as before because of new regulations, nightlife in Boracay is still fun with bars and clubs peppered along the island. Happy hour is offered in each and every one, so you can do a pub crawl anytime.

  • Tourists need to show a confirmed booking to an accredited Boracay hotel before you can go to the island. It will be inspected at the Caticlan Jetty Port.
