The hotel is in an outstanding location. Easy walk too many great sites, including the Royal Mile. Also conveniently located by many transportation options. Hotel staff was very friendly the restaurant has good options for dinner. The breakfast buffet is very good. Although my one criticism would be that the cost varies if you book it 24 hours in advanced it’s £17.50. If you go the day of it’s £22 I don’t get that the rooms are spacious and quite comfortable kudos to the housekeeping staff they were very much on top of everything cleaned my room every day. I requested it with the exception that they did not change the sheets other than that they were great. I would highly recommend the hotel.

Room was okay but the breakfast was horrible. Exactly the same menu every single day. Only 2 choices of meat - extremely dry ham and greasy sausage. Tasteless bread. We skipped it on the 3rd day.

We absolutely loved the hotel and the area, we would go again! Housekeeping was not the best in our visit, we had to repeatedly go fetch our own towels, coffee etc, that was very disappointing I believe on our 5 night stay, our room was only cleaned once, and not restocked, our coffee mugs were still dirty and right where we left them

The bed was uneven, it had multiple bumps in it and was very uncomfortable. The shower water pressure was not good, and no complimentary water in the room. Overall disappointed with the stay. When mentioning the issues to staff , they didn't offer anything for the poor stay. However the room was clean and had a nice design. Just expected more from a 4 star hotel.

The rooms were both really filthy. Lots of dust on top of the wardrobes, units and window sills. The carpets were so dirty and hadn’t been hoovered. The shower tray was dirty and the bathroom floor too. The tea and coffee facility was full of paper bits of the previous guests and full of sugar everywhere. Very poor standard of the Marriott. These rooms are overpriced and should have been checked on a regular basis. Spoiled our weekend in Edinburgh which was meant to be top notch.
