Good pub good food

Did not like the fact that there are 3 steps up to the ground floor rooms . The pavements around the building are not very good for those with sight and/or mobility issues.

My husband and I came up from Kent for family and we enjoyed our 2 night stay. Check in was super easy, the staff very nice, bed was quite comfortable

Lovely stay but cooked breakfast could have been better.

Reception staff member was abysmal, restaurant not opened with no warning.

A friendly and conveniently placed hotel. Our only negative comment was that it did not have a hair dryer in the room.

Restaurant and lounge bar were closed due to not having a chef. If we had been advised we would not have stayed there. When away for a few days break it is nice to relax and enjoy a glass of something along with your evening meal in the hotel and not having to drive to a restaurant. The limited staff were all friendly, but definitely got the impression that the hotel was operating on a shoe string with a lack of attention to detail. We have stayed there several times in the past and therefore very disappointed especially with not being advised in advance about the lack of facilities.

This hotel is outstanding and from the outside you think hmm but inside it is well decorated and cleaned . The bedroom was spotless and had a kettle with tea and coffee to make a drink. The bathroom was clean and modern and a great shower and well designed and fitted out. Breakfast was great such a great choice from toast to cereal.. and a cooked breakfast that was delicious and quality items with a great waitress. Trust me worth staying .

Very pleasant place; nice people. Basic breakfast abd most of it was cold but it was cheap.

I booked this hotel for one of our engineers as it stated on Hotels.com that breakfast was included and that there were restaurant facilities - it quite clearly states Mackenzies open for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. Our engineer got there expecting a hot meal after a long day on site - and was told that the restaurant at the hotel hadn't been open for weeks!!! They were still doing breakfasts though. If it said that on the website I wouldn't have booked him in there !!! Very misleading.

This is a lovely, well maintained hotel with friendly and helpful staff.

Chose this hotel from others in the area for the restaurant, it doesn’t have one permanently closed, shower cold in evening luke warm in morning, breakfast ok, bed and pillows hard

Upon arrival there was a lot of leaves and some litter at the entrance and throughout the 2 days stay it was not swept or cleaned. The hotel itself was nice, a little outdated in parts but the room was clean and warm which was good as it was minus 1 outside. The breakfasts were good with plenty of choice, and a vegetarian option, not sure if there was any other alternatives such as vegan. Service was good and prompt with not long to wait for your food. Overall a nice cheap place to stay which was what we wanted.

The room was well presented with a lovely bathroom suite.staff were really nice. I arrived at 8ish and the restaurant was already closed but there was an Italian takeaway open next door which was amazing had a calzone would recommend.

Very good value for money

This hotel was close to where we were attending a function. The room was recently refurbished to a high standard with a well designed en suite and plenty of storage. There was no noise to disrupt our sleep. Breakfast was OK. Friendly staff and no cleanliness issues. We went to the bar next door and the music was fabulous! Probably not a hotel for a weekend break but great for a well priced bed for the night.
