Checked in, receptionist was lovely. Climbed a load of stairs, along some corridors, down some stairs and up some more, finally got to our room, not a towel to be seen. Away back up and down all the stairs to ask for towels and then back up and down all the stairs again. Finally got to relax after driving all the way from Cornwall. Carpark was good, room was ok. Not the cleanest and the shower had more water coming out the hose than anywhere else. The restaurant had food, roast dinner with the toughest beef known to man but the meal as a whole was good. Bed was comfy and had a good nights sleep. In the morning. Headed for breakfast. Never been here before so used our psychic powers to figure out what the score was. The woman in the breakfast room had an abrupt tone about her but was pleasant enough. All the staff of the day started to arrive and congregate behind the bar having loud conversations about what was happening in which rooms and why. You know, the kind of mindless chat you want to hear first thing in the morning. Went out for a smoke before paying and heading back to our room to finish packing. Walked back in to what can only be described as the breakfast room lady looking very shifty, making faces to another guest in an attempt to hide the fact we were being spoken about. Checked out and never looked back. Wont be staying here again. The staff clearly prefer to chat about guests rather than do their job and provide a professional service.

The room was very dated, the sound proofing in the old building was non existent - I heard thumping footsteps slamming doors , music from the bar and loud intimacy noises from one room which was really uncomfortable. I was on the top floor and the smell of fried food permeated all floors and my room all day , every day

Check in was easy. Reception staff was courteous and helpful. The bed was clean and comfortable and the room was spacious. However, the room floors were very dirty. The room smelled like heavy smoke, and a little musty, Especially in the bathroom. There was also an air freshener in the room to cover up the smell but it made it worse. The restaurant looks nice, clean, and presentable, but the food was average and the staff were not very attentive. Overall, not bad for a middle of the road hotel, and has potential to be nice. It just didn’t quite deliver anything over average.

Okay I'm not one for leaving bad reviews at all but this is my honest opinion. On arrival the exterior of the buildings and car park are very nice , and I thought wow. this should be a nice place to stay. The main part of the hotel and reception more traditional looking building and the separate room block looks modern and fairly new from the outside (almost like American motel style) We were greeted by a nice lady on reception and had a brief chat and were given our room number and location which was a room in the lower front (motel block) On entering we were very disappointed, room was smelly (window was open),dated & very poorly furnished and certainly not clean , the main area of concern was the bathroom, it was badly needing a refurb, holes and cracks in the bath which had been siliconed up , sealing strips loose and when we showered it absolutely soaked the floor. The whole room and furniture looked like it had been painted by a 5 year old, with two high backed velvet chairs at the window, I pulled one out to initially lay some clothes on and thought against this as it was manky at the area where ones crotch would be. Old chocolate and a used sock under one of the beds. Mattress was in dire need of a replacement. On a plus the shower pressure was good. Although we didn't pay much for this room I really do expect better. Up your game please management at Richmond Park. I never complained as we had an early start from Edinburgh Airport and didn't want any stress.

Stayed for 2 nights in the adjacent building as we had a family room. Staff - was not overly friendly/not very hospitable/didn’t really welcome us Room - reasonably clean but bathroom and room was very tired and was in very much need of an update! Bathroom especially, including wobbly taps, paint peeling off walls etc!! We had family staying in the actual hotel building and they had door banging in the night, tv turning on at 1am, drunks nextdoor banging on the wall in the night and smoke alarm going off in the night due to next door smoking in their room Overall 😂 not very impressed. It was an ok place to sleep in but you wouldn’t want to spend anymore time there than was necessary

Ive stayed at the hotel many times and its a greay hotel in a convenient location. I was a little let down with the single room this time. The bed was comfortable but very noisy, almost like the bed frame was broken or in need of fixing. The floors are very loud and "crack" with every step. I was worried the other rooms heard my every step. And the walls are thin as I could hear the gentleman in the next rooms entire phone conversation. A great hotel but this room not one of its best.

No hangers in wardrobe. Friends who were staying have us some of theirs. Broken window blind lying on floor in room. Both these things reported right away . Asked for change of room but hotel full due to a coach party being in. Employee couldn’t repair blind as fitting broken. Used the throw blanket from bottom of bed to cover window . Disappointing. As blanket thin an outside lights shining in .
