The Roseate Edinburgh

This was one of the quietest city stays we’ve ever had, which was a pleasant surprise (especially since our room was right next to car park and service entrance). Rhiannon was very helpful: stowing bags, booking a taxi, answering our questions, and arranging an early check-in.. All the staff was very kind and warm. Anna was also lovely. We would not stay in the same room (220–The Skerry) again: it was so small that it was hard to open our suitcases AND move about in the available floor space, And the bathroom door is a very thin slider (zero privacy), the full size mattress was not only too small for two adults, but very firm (not in a good way). Worst of all, was the overpowering fruity scented Glade air freshener that made the room uninhabitable for the first few hours. Thankfully the window worked and we were able to air it out (and remove the noxious device from the plug). I guess we just imagined something classier. The view at reception was into a cluttered service area, which was a bit off-putting, as was the dust on the reception desk, and cobwebs on the stairs and in some of the corners in the lobby. Might be time for some spring cleaning. Still, we liked the location, garden, breakfast service, and bar area. We heard that dinner was excellent. We loved the classy lighting, real art work, oriental rugs, and soft chairs in the dining areas. We will try for a different room next time.

An excellent and restful place to land in Edinburgh, convenient to airport and the Royal Mile etc. The parking is a real plus. Both rooms we stayed in were small but well-appointed. with very comfortable beds if rather small bathrooms. Very helpful staff and delicious breakfasts.

Great hotel

We had a wonderful stay. Allege staff were helprlbut Alexander was exceptionally the food was outstanding and we would highly recommend the Roseate.

Excellent service and great staff, good location, nice breakfast. Room we stayed was small and access is not very easy

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had an early flight out the next morning so didn’t get to enjoy breakfast. They did off to bring us a little breakfast tray early, but sadly they must have forgot as we never got it. But the room was beautiful, had a cute nespresso machine in it and the bed was comfy. Overall a lovely stay!

The staff was the best! Breakfast and drinks were good.

Gorgeous rooms and very friendly staff

The room was comforable. The staff were friendly and made an effort to get to know you. Breakfast was a great start to the day.

Amazing stay. Top-tier service and the rooms are great. Adam at the front desk was always willing to help. Would highly recommend!

The room was impeccable. Also ordered some lovely food from the Dunstane restaurant downstairs, it was delicious!

Loved it, probably the best Hotel I’ve stayed in for some time. Location, staff, facility, cleanliness and comfortable…..

This place is a must while in Edinburgh. Beautiful building with amazing staff ;-) A 10 mins walk to the Murrayfield stadium and 5 mins to restaurants and cafe. The hotel has also a restaurant which was excellent.

Fabulous hotel just a stone’s throw from the town centre and all the attractions. Attentive & friendly staff; exquisite decor and rooms and easily accessible trams & buses.

Fantastic break - just what we were looking for

The hotel was beautiful, cosy, peaceful and very very clean. Its decorated and maintained to a very high standard. The service could not have been better. The breakfast was FANTASTIC! staff were excellent too. We loved every minute of our stay here. Thank you so much!

Very charming hotel in an old mansion with spacious rooms

Room lovely and clean. Comfy bed. Free upgrade on arrival which was great. Staff good, breakfast good . Only disappointment was there was no fruit tea. Would recommend
