Convenient location next to the train station. Room was tidy. Double bed is awfully small for two people, but we made do. Really our only complaint is that the room was hot and hard to get comfortable.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! It is an older hotel- so as expected some things were quite well-worn.
Note- VERY limited onsite parking. We parked in the secure lot they directed us to that was a 5-10 minute walk away.

This is an older hotel, and a few of the touches are quite old. Some of the wallpaper isn’t sticking to the walls very well and there’s carpet in the elevator, which takes a few minutes of holding down the button before it will move. The staircases were stunning and the food at dinner is fabulous. I thought they could’ve had a little bit more for the continental breakfast in the way of pastries and such, but eating was held in a ballroom room giving you a feel of elegance.

Stayed for just the one night.
Receptionist very welcoming and polite.
The reception area is very beautiful and tastefully decorated; with plenty of tartan and a sweeping central staircase.
There is also a left luggage facilities for guests which Infound useful in the morning as I wanted to do some exploring before making my way to the airport.
I did not have any food at the hotel choosing instead a local Wetherspoons.
The actual room was well equipped and the bed comfortable. However the fixtures and fittings and decor in the room looked 'tired' and could do with a refresh. Not a complaint just an observation

We won't be back to this hotel.
It smells quite musty, perhaps the carpets aren't shampooed enough.
Housekeeping only every 2nd day??? We didn't need it but it shouldn't have been dictated by them.
We killed 3 flies in the bathroom.
The restaurant/bar tables were piled with dirty dishes.
Definitely not worth the price.

This hotel was once very elegant. Royalty stayed here. The physical property retains some of the elegance, but the staff and service does not. "Inexperienced" comes to my mind.

Due to a problem with the rooms they were unable to fulfil our booking - which we only then discovered on arrival. We were moved to a far inferior hotel with no offer of a refund of the difference. Awful service.

Room smelled of feces. Phone in room was sticky. There was a hole in the floor in the hallway covered by carpet. Stains on floor in bedroom. No air or vent in room or bathroom, had to open window to get air and room was very hot. Staff was helpful when we checked in but desk staff was unfriendly and argumentative when we explained we were checking out due to the very uncomfortable conditions.

This has always been a nice hotel to stay in, very central in Inverness and right alongside the railway station (which is why I use it, as a resident elsewhere in the Highlands). It was grand once, and they are working hard to keep it in good condition, but it has a slightly worn feel, with signs of damp around the shower for example.
However, the bed was comfortable, there was tea and coffee making facilities with complimentary biscuits, and a good quality TV. It was a welcome respite after a long, disrupted rail journey from London!
