Lovely, clean and spacious room. One of the best showers I've used in a long time. The food in the restaurant was simply amazing, both breakfast and dinner. Beautifully presented and every mouthful savoured. Next time we're in this part of the world we will definitely stay here again.

Lovely place to stay - it’s the 4th time we’ve stayed here when visiting the area and it’s always a pleasant experience. Good sized family room with my two sons, and overall a very clean and nice pub hotel with friendly staff.

We booked for a two night mid week break and felt this was a good area to base ourselves. The Ship Inn provides accommodation which meets the needs of couples, families, and people with pets. A friendly environment with good service throughout. The room itself was clean and the bed so comfortable with refreshments such as tea, coffee, biscuits all prepared and topped up if needed. The bathroom had an overhead shower. Everything in good working order.
Breakfast was available until 09:00 which suited us and the service was efficient and welcoming. The porridge and 'Scottish breakfast' was tasty and well presented. Furthermore it was freshly cooked. We really enjoyed our stay and do plan to return- very good value for money and access to beautiful surroundings.

Lovely hotel with great history in a very charming small town. The staff were very friendly. On arrival I sat in the lounge in front of a big wood stove with my pint of beer writing my journal - what a great start. The dining room is good and the food very enjoyable. Allow time to explore the area - there is so much to see.

Lovely refurbished pub hotel, our room was directly over the bar and entrance and was very loud for a small village pub but very well furnished and good supply of tea,coffee. Staff were all very young and a bit inexperienced but tried their best in a very busy restaurant. There were a few hiccups at dinner and breakfast but overall a lovely place to visit

Value for money this is excellent with a terrific restaurant attached. Ideal for all types and rooms are all brand new. Perfect for motorcycle touring, as there is ample parking at the hotel. A hidden gem that requires more recognition for its quality.
