If you are looking for a hotel that is a cookie cutter to the budget hotels you would find in the states this place is not for you. It is quirky in a floors not quite level, key fob is a trailer hitch pull, small rooms but high ceilings kind of way. The plaster walls hide beautiful marble work that is only now being uncovered. The rooms have everything you will need but are basic. But oh the location! Right on La Rumbas the place is within walking distance to so very much. I loved that it was a 5 minute walk with my heavy suitcase to the Aerobus that takes you to the airport for about $8.00 Three blocks in any direction will land you someplace cool.

The Hotel Monegal is in a great location for seeing the sites of Barcelona. There is a Metro station (Catalunya) right by the hotel, making it easy to get to other areas of the city. It is located on La Rambla within walking distance of the Cathedral and old town. The staff were so friendly and very helpful, they had good knowledge of the area and good recommendations for where to eat. The room was basic but comfortable, there were a few loose and cracked floor tiles in the bathroom but other than that it was fine. The beds were comfortable. The room was very clean and they replaced the towels everyday. The price was affordable and I would highly recommend staying here. We would definitely stay at the Hotel Monegal again.

Perfect location and great staff! Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay, felt super safe and comfortable at this property. Room was clean and spacious.

Tinny room, poor facilities, however, because of the hotel is very small, front staff remember me and passed me my room key without asking my name. Location and s very good to take Metro, sightseeing bus and airport bus as well. There are many restaurants and supermarkets so that I don’t have any problems to eat and purchasing snacks and bottle of water. If I could pay more, there are many good hotels around my hotel.

The location was very convenient, there was the metro station where you essentially could get to places easy from Plaça Cataluyna. The 24hr concierge was definitely a plus considering our flight to Barcelona arrived late and we were check-in as well as being able to leave our luggages after checkout. The rooms were okay considering the amount of days we were gonna be there for. It was kinda loud outside the doors from the room and wifi was kinda bad but otehrwise staff was really nice and polite.

What can I say to not come off to harsh , but the room we originally booked was not given to me , second the room they gave us was in a area where people congregated and we couldn’t sleep do to loud conversations, the bed was uncomfortable the room was just nothing like I viewed online , overall a bad experience . The room was Very old I would have preferred to sleep outside .
