Winstrup Hostel

A great clean place to stay. Very convenient!

Clean, well functioning, cosy shared areas. Location in the heart of Lund.

This was great. Not first yime I stay here either and will stay again. Just stay for one or two nights while traveling through. It has all the basics that I need, and very little more for a decent price.

The location is very convenient, it is very simple to access by train. The rooms are just what you need when you visit a city. There are a lot of amenities such as a large kitchen, storage, lounge etc.

Good for the price

I thought my room reflected the price I payed, however... there were a couple of nights when it was a bit hot. If there would been 2 people in my room, it would have been way too hot. But all in all, I'd stay here again.

Booked a separate 2 bed. Turns out to be in a room that is small that my luggage didn’t even fit in the room. Bed was super tiny too.

Check in was easy and the rooms were comfortable. All the facilities were very clean and well maintained. Had an excellent stay and would definitely use Winstrup hostel again!

This was the second time staying at Winstrup. This hotel, in my opinion, is the best bang for your buck in Lund. You are minutes from the train station and busses to all of Sweden. You are close to the university. You are a short walk away from Malmborgs (grocery store) and they are opened until 23.00 every day. AND, it's a great place to meet people.

The hostel itself is nicely located near the center of Lund. Check-in information was provided in an email and all was clear. The shared rooms and bedroom were very clean. The mattresses could use an upgrade. They were clean aswell, but not really supporting.

Quite basic but cost effective, my room had four beds, but I was not told how many other people would be staying there (that would be helpful).

I love everything about this place except the security. The front door code unchanged, the room code unchanged. There’s no front desk receptionist. The people previously stayed can easily come back into the room. I’m not comfortable with the security at all.

This is a quiet gem very close to Lund central station and about five minute walk to just about anything in the heart of Lund. I am in my 50’s and usually do not stay in hostels. That said, this one sounded great for location and from reviews. The owner was terrific in communicating by email and let me know that I needed to request a padlock if needed or a towel. That was very helpful because that was not included in the information on hotels.com. The hostel is clean, sparkling clean actually. I stayed in the women’s room with eight cozy cubby’s for beds and an attached private bathroom with 4 sinks, 3 stalls, and two showers. The room is quite spacious and there is lots of storage. The common area is very nice, with lots of seating and the kitchen is well organized and I felt quite at home in it. The beds are a single mattress which I liked because I like a more firm bed. The pillow is comfortable but not puffy so if you like big fat pillows you may want to see about requesting an extra. There is a privacy curtain on the bed so when others are in the room with you then you can create a private space. The best thing about this hotel is how economical it is! Sweden can be expensive and here you can stay for many days and you won’t break the bank. I highly recommend this hotel!

I'm not use to this lack of reception although the staff I eventually found was friendly and spoke English well. Nice bunks mounted to the wall and had curtains. Nice WiFi

Easy to get to from the train station. Large room, and very quiet. The curtain on the bunks are nice, but can feel a little claustrophobic.

Good place and good value, but it can be a night mare if you have a loudly snoring room mate. The hotel should offer snore-free rooms or offer earplugs with each room

Winstrup is a hostel where you sleep 6 or 8 persons in a room. The beds are like small boxes and do give some privacy actually, but you still share the room and bathroom with others. No one snored in my room luckily. As all hostels you can prepare your meals if you wish. This you know when booking, so if you can live with all that you'll have a nice visit!

I was only in Lund briefly overnight, but the hostel is ideal for that, since it is just a stone's throw from the railway station. The hostel is fresh and pleasant.

Best Hostel in Lund

It was a great experience, especially considering the great price! The beds are comfortable and the little "cubbies" they're in makes them cozy and private. There's plenty of room to sit up inside, along with a reading light, outlet, and small shelf for book, phone, etc. I stayed in the middle of the week and only saw a few other people, who were all quiet and friendly. I was pleasantly surprised that people of all ages were there-- from 20s to retirement age-- and looked as if they were both leisure and business travelers.
