Books & Woods B&B

The owner's daughter Penny was the only host around during the 3 days of our stay. She is very friendly, warm and helpful right from the start. Even though we arrived in Taitung rather late, she was patient to wait for our return from dinner, to give us excellent suggestions for our itinerary. My friend fell sick 1 of the night, and she actually drove back to the B&B to drive us out to an eatery, so that we can buy takeaway for dinner! My friends and I were very touched by her hospitality and genuine concern for her guests. Breakfast prepared by Penny was delicious. She also took the initiative to offer breakfast takeaway for us to eat on the train when we had to catch an early train to a nearby town. The "beach" room we stayed in was very big and clean. It is also nicely decorated with blue sky and clouds for ceiling, seashell beds, painted beach on the walls and a giant seahorse plushie. The bathroom has excellent hot water as well. I strongly recommend this place to all travellers! You would experience the warmth of Taiwanese with their hospitality, and maybe gain a friend too :)

We had a wonderful stay at Book and Woods. The rooms were exactly as pictured, it was clean yet inviting. But most outstanding, was the people and staff that ran the place. They have created such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We really felt like a part of the family. I would highly recommend this to any type of traveller (solo, family, couples) who wants to experience true Taiwan.

Our best memory of our short stay at this B&B was the daughter of the owner gave us a tour around town in the morning before our departure at noon. We would have wasted the whole morning staying indoor due to bad weather if she had not generously accepted this unplanned duty! The coastal scenery alone the ride is so stunning that blended so beautifully with the aboriginal songs played in her car. It so happened that day was the Finals of an international surfing tournament at the popular Jinzun Fishery Harbour, we stood watching in the heavy rain and wind with excitement which reminded me so much of Hawaii !! We will be back in the future to experience all the natural beauty Taitung has to offer and to stay at Wood n Books BnB again !!
