Chance Hotel Taichung

It’s a very nice hotel. The room is very clean and it’s right by the train station.

Near Taichung TRA and transport to Sun Moon Lake etc. Only thing is room not exactly sound proof. We hear other guests talking and moving arnd fm 6 am. At times rowdy in the evening. DIY laundry is useful.

Very friendly and helpful staff. I had an issue with smelling cigarette smoke in my room, and when I talked to the front desk, the staff immediately got up and went upstairs, saying she’d check where it was coming from and that she would turn on the air purifier so I would have no issues when I returned. That gave me a lot of peace of mind. Rooms were clean and you can select which toiletries you need downstairs, which is eco-friendly. The bathroom and shower are a good size. The mini-fridge inside the room was clean. Plenty of outlets in ideal places (next to bed, near desk, next to fridge). Good location very close to the train station. Multiple elevators meant you never had to wait long for one. Check-in was easy and seamless. Checking out was less straightforward since I am not familiar with checkout procedures in Taiwan and the machine to drop off the key did not have English on it (but has English mode after you click into the interface). Once I knew where to go, it was fine.

Super hotel near Taichung station, conveniently located, with train station, bus, Ubike. From here about 500m will go to Nantous bus - where you can take bus to Cingjingfarm / Sunmoonlake. Everything is pretty except for Chinese food in the morning :))

The hotel is near the bus station and in walking distance to MRT stations. Food was delicious and the staff were friendly.
