I did not take any food from the hotel as there are plenty of options near the hotel, especially M3. The staff are super friendly and courteous. I appreciate the many options for the welcome drink. The hotel is also just next to the Taipei Main Station, so connectivity is excellent.

Good : Helpful staff, clean room, centrally located and 5 minutes walk to Taipei Main Station and malls. Needs improvement: room 1007. - water keeps leaking into the toilet that flush itself. Sometimes, we can not flush the toilet due to the water tank is not full for flushing. We had reported the problem to the staff to fix the toilet but the problem is still there. The air conditioning takes long time to cool the room. The plumbing makes sound during our stay there for 3 nights that disturbs sleeps.

It is conveniently located by the Taipei Main Station, with downstairs nearby shops, restaurants, 7-Eleven, and Family Mart, along with Shin Kong Mitsikoshi. Even with being a busy intersection, hotel is well sound-proofed. Traditional Japanese style older building with lots of heavy decorations. Kind front desk who speak Japanese, Mandarin, and English. Breakfast buffet staff is punctual - keep an eye on the open hours, or they'll scoot you out. Rooms are decently small with room to move, fun and games figuring out the light switches between the twin beds, streamlined wall storage to set luggage on. Bathroom is tidy and small. For those with balance issues, step carefully over the high bathtub wall when entering/exiting shower with sliding door. A near-miss with wet foot on sliding bath floormat away from tub resulted in a loss of balance, and tipping over the bathtub edge when grabbing the sliding door for balance, instead of the glass more secured to wall. Perhaps future floormats with solid rubber backing or additional rubber applied to floor would be an improvement. Location is solid 100%. Note that there is a solid concrete wall dividing the highway along the block directly in front of hotel. When approaching from the east side, across the street, requires a climb/descent on an overhead pedestrian bridge. When approaching from the west side, about 2-3 blocks away near the station, the road is divided to allow a crosswalk at street level.

The hotel is centrally located right next to the Taipei station. The hotel itself is a bit on the old side but well maintained. However, the breakfast area in the morning is too small to accommodate all the guests, making the dining experience unpleasant.
