Nihao Cafe Hotel

I have family in this area so it is either Howard Plaza Hotel, Park Hotel or Nihao. Given my extended stay, Nihao was ideal for my budget and convenience: Supermarkets, department stores, MRT stations, just about everything is within walking distance.

The hotel is not bad, but the room has a constant sewage smell that cannot be avoided. The sewage smell stems from the toilet, and the room size is small. Location is convenient as it is directly next to a MRT station. The bed fits just nice. So not recommended for someone who is tall and need extra leg space.

The location of this small hotel is great and convenient. 2 minutes walk to Daan Station. The room is clean. The mini bar at the hallway provided some snack and hot water, teabag which is convenient.

Next to a metro station is very practical, nice efficient room. Could have done with a change of towels when we asked for our room to be done. We stayed 4 nights. Great place, would recommend.

Very difficult late check in. Supposed to use a tablet and provide Expedia reference which did not work. Hotel is very nice, rooms are clean and just the right size. Hotel is well located. Breakfast is ok, could be better (pancakes seem defrosted, croissant is not fresh).

I usually read reviews prior to any bookings and this was not an exception. However, the positive reviews did not reflect my experience. Some of the better details: Location is convenient to Daan Station. The bed, bedding, and pillows were all very comfortable. The place itself is cute. Caveats: One of the entry steps was quite rickety and slanted. My husband almost tripped. That definitely needs to be fixed as it would be a hazard especially if it were raining and becomes slippery. I booked a room with a tiny private bathroom. Have you ever taken a shower over a toilet with exposed electrical cables? I asked to see if this was safe and was reassured that it was but I was skeptical. I tried not to spray water in that direction so I didn’t use the rain shower head. The shower curtain was useless and the entire bathroom floor was completely wet. The toilet seat cover protected the seat from getting wet but the wet floor was a nuisance. Any movement in the hallways could easily be heard. Sandals/slippers/flip flops were flip flopping in the corridor. Rooms being accessed with key cards. You could hear the water pipes too. Non-existent soundproofing. One of our light switches was loose. Sketchy electrical yet again. I don’t know how this establishment is called a hotel because it’s clearly a hostel. Maybe there was a spelling error in the listing? Let’s call a spade a spade. This would be a renovated 2.5 star hotel at most or a decent hostel.

Staff very friendly Room clean but a bit small

房間十分舒服乾淨，小小的很溫馨，隔音也不錯，唯一小小缺點是洗澡會讓浴室甚至玄關地板都溼掉，假如穿附贈的紙拖鞋會非常滑，有點危險。除了浴室以外，其他的部份都很棒！

Another perfect stays for 1 week at this little gem in Taipei. This is our No.1 choice of stay whenever we come back to visit families. Awesome breakfast selections even for vegetarian. We feel like we are at home but with room service included. lol The hotel is nicely located in the mist of the central Taipei. And it is within close vicinity of MRT station by 2-3 minutes walks. If you are looking for some reasonable stays with all the amenities in Taipei. This is the place!!!!

Everything was simply perfect, apart from the too small room size: super friendly and helpful staff, unbelievable amenities, including even a free handy with wifi, comfortable beds, great location, delicious coffee and breakfast. Strongly recommend to book 1 extra bed though, otherwise no room for luggage.

All the interior is well designed. The whole feeling is very welcoming. The breakfast is well served.

We have been staying at this location on the past four visits for the last three years. We love the small but comfy feeling of this little hotel, great location to central taipei, close vicinity to taipei metro system. great breakfast selections and excellent laundry service for the hotel guests. This hotel is always our #1 selection for stay whenever we plan on visiting Taipei, Taiwan.

Conviniently located near Daan Station, it's within 15 mins from Songshan Airport and Taipei 101, and convenience store is just across the road. I've taken the bunk bed room. It's on the narrow side, but it's small and cozy, and the room has ample amenities such as toiletries and USB adaptor. As there's only 12 rooms at this premise, you virtually guaranteed a personalised service. Would recommend solo travellers to book the bunk room.
