This was my first stay and I was very impressed. The room looked great. I stayed in a room with a view, and it was very clean. If you like dimly lit rooms, this is the place. The counter staff were lovely, friendly, and always smiling. The housekeeping was excellent, and the air conditioning was very cold. It was fantastic to get such a great room for under 100,000 baht.

The accommodation is near important places, convenient to go to various restaurants. The staff have service mind in every department, from security guards, receptionists, housekeepers. The room is spacious, new, very clean, has a comfortable desk, has a bathrobe and slippers, most importantly, the bathroom has very strong water flow, suitable for washing hair. I asked for a special breakfast, 2 boiled eggs, and they served it without any reluctance.

come on family trip everyone was very impressed Especially the youngsters, the staff are all really good. Breakfast buffet. During covid, there may be few options. But there are still options. food always filling The room has 2 pillows per bed. We sleep in twin. If sleeping in a double bed, there are 4 pieces. The bed is good, not too tight, not too soft, sucks a lot of souls, sleeps comfortably, cool air conditioner, strong water flow, bathroom equipment, good use. The room was spotless. If the price is not over 1000 per room, I think this is the best place to stay in Chiang Rai // We use the room for just sleeping and having breakfast. If anyone likes a hotel with a beautiful view There is a shady garden Here may not answer the question. But if you want a good rest Breakfast has quite a variety. good service staff I guarantee you won't be disappointed 👍

Me and my friends stayed 3 nights here for our holiday in Chiang Rai. The hotel is in a very good location, close to the night market and also within walking distance to the beautiful Clock Tower. Make sure you come there at 7 PM, 8 PM, and 9 PM, there will be a light show on the clock with music. The breakfast is also delicious with plenty of options. I would recommend this hotel and we would love to come back again when visiting Chiang Rai again in the future.

Like the accommodation Our father watched so big that he had to pass a cheap price and still have breakfast. In the heart of the city Prices like this can't be found. The quality of the room is very good. Breakfast each day is a sausage, fried eggs, boiled pork, very tasty. The housekeeper, the owner of the house, is cute and friendly. Very private. For anyone who will stay at this price Don't think a lot. Because only breakfast is worth it

Look for Khao Soi, a creamy, coconut-based curry noodle soup that is a northern Thai staple, often served with pickled mustard greens, shallots, and lime. Sai Oua, a flavourful grilled pork sausage seasoned with herbs and spices, is another local specialty that offers a distinct taste of Wiang.

For an authentic taste of Wiang's food scene, exploring local markets and street food stalls is essential. The Chiang Rai Night Bazaar, mentioned in our accommodation guide, is a prime location to sample a wide variety of local delicacies, from grilled meats and seafood to sweet treats and refreshing beverages. For Muslim travellers, finding Halal-certified eateries might require a bit more research, but many restaurants in tourist-frequented areas are increasingly accommodating, and seeking out dishes based on vegetables, fruits, and seafood is generally a safe bet.

When dining in Wiang, embracing local customs enhances the experience. Tipping is not mandatory but is appreciated for good service, with a small amount (around 10-20 THB) often left at casual eateries and a slightly larger percentage at more formal restaurants. Meals are typically shared, and it's common to use a spoon and fork, with the fork used to push food onto the spoon. Be mindful of spice levels; if you prefer milder food, politely ask for "mai phet" (not spicy). Observing these practices will ensure a more respectful and enjoyable culinary journey.

Cultural Norms and Staying Safe in Wiang

Understanding local customs is key to a respectful and enriching visit to Wiang. The Thai concept of "sanuk" (fun) permeates daily life, encouraging a lighthearted approach to interactions. When visiting prominent sites like the Chiang Rai Clock Tower or exploring areas near hotels such as B2 Chiang Rai Boutique & Budget Hotel or Sann Hotel, maintaining respectful behaviour is paramount. Public displays of affection are generally frowned upon. Always remove your shoes before entering someone's home or a temple.
