Bay Beach Resort

Our stay short, just one day to catch a flight. All the staff in the restaurant were really nice. The a/c is cold and the beach is lovely - a perk that the hotel provides beach chairs. There were always some available over the 2 afternoons we had there. The pool also seemed nice and clean. Rooms and restaurant could both use some major updates, especially rooms. Moldy in the bathroom, very strong smelling air fresheners which I imagine are there to mask other smells. Lots of ants in the bathroom and almost zero water pressure. For the price, the room served it’s purpose of a place to store bags, rinse off and catch one nights sleep but I probably wouldn’t stay longer.

Property on amazing beach ⛱️

We arrived and had booked 2 rooms. In one room there was no air conditioning. We raised this with the staff, they told us there was nothing that could be done about this and the hotel was full so they couldn’t move us. When we told them we weren’t willing to pay for the room they miraculously found an empty room. The rooms had a funny smell, were unclean and the bathroom was very old. The door to the room and the balcony had huge gaps around the frame that we had to try and block up with towels to prevent mosquitoes getting in. The engineer was sent to our room the next day to fix the A/C - it wasn’t fixed. Again we had to stay in another room - leaving our children on a different floor in their room! On day 3 we decided this was not the hotel for us and booked another hotel. We checked out early and explained the reasons, the staff didn’t seem to see this as an issue. The manager eventually came to reception and it took over half an hour for us to check out- she told us we should have come down earlier if we were leaving! After constant debate of the issues we had raised, the manager agreed to only charge us for the 3 days we had been at the hotel and for the full 7 days in the other room- although we were leaving early as the hotel was filthy.

This hotel is in a perfect location but needs a lot of work done to it. Many small issues add up to a big no thanks for future stays. Talking with other guests we heard about multiple plumbing issues in various rooms. Friendly owners but they need to invest more in maintenance.

This hotel recently changed its name but all of the signs and all of the locals know it only under the old name as Choeng Mon Beach hotel. The taxi driver had big problems finding it. The hotel is in a great location right on a nice beach . Big room and balcony with everything you need although a little unloved. Decent breakfast served down at the beach beach restaurant, there is very little choice tho. Rooms do not get serviced unless you ask.

Run down hotel but you get what you pay for. It was clean though, with functional air con so on a budget - it meets requirements. Pool very green and no warning of this but the hotel is on the beach so you can't really complain. Local area ok - a handful of restaurants and convenience stores but nothing crazy...

It was the perfect location, but my main complaint is that the Wifi was non-existent. I had a difficult time planning things to do with my friends. The first day I had to wander the streets to find my group due to lack of wifi.

One of the best resorts I have ever stayed in. My room was facing the sea; in fact, it was literally on the beach. The resort is some distance from the city and i would recommend this to anyone who would like to spend some quality time on the lap of nature. The staff were friendly and nice. They are ready to help you with your requirements. The only thing I missed was a breakfast buffet. However, no one can have the best of both worlds. The tranquility, ambience and the comfort made my travel a most memorable experience.

Stayed for 5 days , nice quiet area , best beach on the island , plenty of places to eat close by but still retains a village feel.

We chose this hotel because it was on beach. The linen were old and need replacement. The room did not have much facilities but location very convenient and secluded.

The room was double the size of other rooms we have had in Thailand for the same price. All facilities were available as advertised. The room was quiet and in a convenient location. We were very happy with our stay.

We were very disappointed in the condition of the room. The room was filthy to say the least. Cobwebs in the corners of the room. The toilet needed a good scrubbing including the toilet bowl. There were no other rooms available at that time of the year so we could not be accommodated in another room.

Perfect location right at the beach, nice pool, friendly staff, but still the whole place is suffering from its age and the lack of maintenance. Staff are friendly, but not very attentive. A complete revamp of the whole place (and the management) would do.

Booked this room in Jan 14 for 6 nights at New Year. Read reviews and requested room SK1 Photo of rooms looked good Arrived and was not offered room SK1. Room looked like a backpackers hostel room. Premium linens and towels were badly stained. I was furious. I complained to the owner and he just smiled but it was clear he was not going to take any action. Thankfully the young man behind the counter did and he offered me SK2 next to the beach This room was in desperate need of updating but it was clean and we had a daily change of towels. The breakfast was excellent. Location could not be faulted It is cheap so I guess you do get what you pay for. The reception staff were always tip top - no complaints at all
