Kalyon Hotel Istanbul

This Hotel is at the perfect location where you have an amazing waterfront view and at the back of the Hotel there is an entrance which leads to Sultanmet area , you basically have best of both.

The location was good. We were able to walk to many places within 10 minutes. The view of the sea was amazing! The rooms were a good size. The restaurant breakfast was expensive- Twenty Euros a person- so we chose to eat at the local restaurants on the main road overlooking the sea. The front desk staff were not that friendly. They did not give us a warm welcome when we arrived. They didn’t smile, were short with their answers and didn’t look at us while checking in. The door man and the bellhop were very kind and warm with their interactions.

Average Hotel. No reason for them to be this expensive. I have better experience at Hilton in cheaper price. Rooms are not sound prove. Rooms are also interconnected, means there is a door between 2 rooms. Random ppl knocked on my room 2 nights in a row.

The hotel has a great location overlooking the sea. The staff is friendly. The breakfast is great in general. However, if you’re going to stay multiple days then it becomes repetitive and may consider taking the breakfast elsewhere. When I was booking this hotel, I read some bad reviews related to the air conditioning. I think this must an old problem. The air conditioning is very good now.

I stayed at the hotel 5 nights and they had no air conditioning all of the system was controlled from the reception and they said no when requested to put the AC on.

Very good location with plenty of restaurants, cafes and landmarks within walking distance. Cleanliness and service was very good. The only negative point would be the WiFi which was very slow and issues with connection. Staff are very helpful and friendly

I was really disappointed. Though housekeeping came everyday to clean the room - they never changed the bedsheets - i stayed for a week and that was disgusting. It took me two days to get bathroom slippers none were in the room. No robe was in the room. The bath tub was never cleaned i felt mucky taking a shower. This is not a hotel service worst experience ever. The restaurant desserts were nice, the mains and starters were awful.

View is fatastic, hotel is clean and nice. Staff in the front desk has a stern face without much emotion. Another staff guided us to the room was weird, he accompanied us into the room and continued to talk to us while we wanted to rest due to the jet lag.

Its situated on a good location. Breakfast is below average as its priced. Rooms are clean. Property is well maintained.

The thing that stood out the most is how friendly the staff is.. but besides that everything else was also super. The restarants and shopping centers are just a 2 minutes walk.

I had booked 2 rooms with partial view and it was indeed partial view but I didn’t mind it. There was an ancient rock wall that cannot be torn down which adds a majestic look to the sea. The rooms looked exactly as the pictures so I was happy about that. They were very clean and spacious. The hotel location was perfect and grant easy access to the central market and monumental sights.The staff were ok and professional. They greet you and take care of you the minute you arrive. They did keep our luggage after check out while we go sightseeing and return when we were ready, which was nice of them.The breakfast was not that great it’s not worth paying for; they didn’t have a good variety and is bland. I could have been better off getting breakfast in local restaurants but they had Starbucks which is perfect for coffee lovers like me. Overall I had a great time staying there and would stay there again.

Nice, small hotel being one of the oldest ones in the area but still clean, comfortable and well kept hotel with smiling and helpful personnel starting from the front desk to restaurant. Only point to improve can be the a/c performance for the rooms facing west during sunny & hot days.

Hey, We stayed for 5 nights at Kalyon hotel, it was a very pleasent experience. Nice people every time at your service, good breakfast, clean and big room with partial seaview; they cleaned our room every day, put fresh towels, paper, shower gel and shampoo. Con: a little bit noisy; very bad experience with dinner at their restaurant.

We had to ask several times to have our room cleaned despite leaving the door handle sign to show we’d like the housekeeping services. Someone came into our room whilst we was out and took our dirty towels but did not replace the towels and did not even do basic housekeeping of changing the bins. We requested iron multiple times to which we finally got it late evening. I did send a message to the hotel to which they said someone will clean the room but they still didn’t do a good job. Other than that we had a pleasant stay
