Chateau Beachfront Hotel, A By The Sea Resort

They are in the process of renovating — which we did not mind the dirtiness from that. What was disappointing is the other vacationers who ruin low cost options for everyone else. Spilling food and drinks around the pool and not picking up after themselves. Our neighboring room kept leaving trash overflowing on the beach front. The 2nd half of our stay was better and there was more staff cleaning up after people. Just wished it was a little cleaner around the pool.

We had booked a 1 king room with a kitchen 6 months in advanced, upon arriving we were told that our room wasn’t ready and wouldn’t be ready for us in time. Granted the front desk lady was nice and said that she would “upgrade us no charge” to a 2 queen bed and kitchenette. We asked to see the room before agreeing and she kind of just ignored our request. We agreed due to driving all day and being tired. I wasn’t a fan of not being able to screen the room before hand but going in the room it appeared clean, there were a few stains on the sheets and the floor wasn’t very clean our socks were dirty after walking around in the room for not even 5 minutes. We brought our own sheets to use and after showering on day one we found a cockroach. Thankfully no more appeared. They sat on the 3rd day of your stay your room will be cleaned. It wasn’t. We had to ask multiple times for someone to come clean our room and give us new towels. I wouldn’t recommend using the dishes they’re not clean. Overall it wasn’t the worst experience I have had but it could definitely be better.

I enjoyed the closeness to the beach. The room coud use some upgrades and repairs. The toilet, bathtub and sink needed fixing. Water in tub and sink were slow going down and the toilet really needs repairing. Other than that, it was all good

I had to wait 2 hours to go to the room and when the room was available the bathroom was dirty. The shower was broken. There were no new towels and they didn't put new toilet paper in the bathroom

I love the hotel the office Staff was very friendly.Only problem was we were there 4 days. and never had maid service I had to go. Ask for fresh clean towels each day.

Front desk staff were very helpful and accommodating. View from room was wonderful and queen beds was as comfortable, if not more so, than our beds at home. Only drawback was we went during a major Harley Davidson event. But room managed to keep 90% of the noise out.

You get what you pay for here. View and closeness to the beach is great, but the room/building itself is very outdated/ needs fixing. Not like the pictures. Molded ceilings, especially in the bathroom, saw a few roaches, linen stained, not fully dry. I ended up using my own sheets/pillow and beach towels. The first room I was given the bed looked like it had been napped ontop of, room was dirty, tv was on and blaring, and a half eaten muffin was on the counter. It’s worth it to pay a little extra for guaranteed cleanliness. Would not recommend.

The hotel itself was fine. They advertise they are a smoke free facility, however, they do not enforce it. The room floor was covered in sand, and no cleaning service during our 3 night stay. Had to ask for extra amenities. Those are all things that can be fixed and wouldn't stop me from booking there again.

Stayed here 55 years ago and went back to see if I could regain my youth. The stairs to the room were a pain, and the upkeep of the rooms was dismal. For the price it was OK. It was clean and the beds slept well. Probably won't go back.

The toilet in the room is inefficient and requires multiple flushes to clear effectively. The floor hasn't been swept in ages, indicating that the place hasn't been properly cleaned. There are several noticeable stains on the sheets and blankets, and unfortunately, the pillow has multiple blood spots on it. The bathroom sink is lacking soap, and hot water is scarce. Although we received towels, there are no washcloths provided. Additionally, the TV remote is nonfunctional for both the channel and volume controls. Finding the WiFi password feels like a scavenger hunt, and while there is an ice bucket, we have to pay extra for ice. Some of the charging ports are out of order, and the refrigerator lacks an adjustment dial, leaving us with only cool water. Furthermore, the freezer section is unusable because the block-off plate has been removed. The entire area has a strong smell of marijuana, and we can hear our neighbors through the walls and ceiling at all hours; one neighbor was even up at 5 AM, which was quite disruptive. It's worth noting that the $240 resort fee comes with no actual resort amenities, and according to my attached receipt, it should not have exceeded $95 upon arrival. This fee is in addition to the $200 damage hold. If I had known it would cost me an extra $240 instead of $95, I would have booked at the Origin for a much better experience. I cannot recommend this place. Additionally, upon returning to room 304 had multiple cockroaches. Video on Yelp

Absolutely disgusting, rusty tub with a ring if grime and did not drain, other people's hair still in the bathroom and on the dishes in the kitchen, rusty microwave, roaches!!! Yes i said roaches!! We checked in at 7pm and they already had ppl complaining about how dirty their room was so it took them 20 mins just to check me in. I should have asked for a refund then but id driven 6 hours and just wanted food and a shower. Went to diner before we looked at the bathroom and kitchen and when we got back is when we discovered how gross the room was and the clogged tub when we tried to shower. Called to have someone come to unclog and clean and they came but they did not fix it or clean. This was 11:30pm abd we had to go to bed w/o a shower. The property did not offer another room or any relief in fact they did not even unclog the tub until noon the next day. Mind you i payed $250 a night to stay in thus disgusting place and we were stuck away from home on a weekend so other places were already fully booked. The property managers do not care about you or your comfort. I got no resolution and left feeling grossed out and cheated. The pictures are not representative of the property. In person its dirty, dilapidated and unsafe. The staff is so used to complaints they just stand there and listen but do nothing. Do not stay here. Please no not stay here. I wish i could post pictures.

Our check in times was 4pm. When we got there at 4pm the office was packed of ppl. Waiting for their rooms to be cleaned so we all could check in. Our room wasn't ready till almost 7pm. We went to dinner and waited on the beach. The floors in our room was covered in sand. The bedding had stains. It was gross. I went out and bought new bedding. And the bathroom was old and falling apart. I called around to see if we could stay somewhere else but everything was full. Spring break. The hallways in the mornings had food beer cans bottles everywhere. The pool also had food trash and cigarettes floating in it. The only nice thing there was we could walk to the beach from our room. We will never stay there again.

Upon arrival hair from previous occupant in shower. The floors so dirty turned our feet black. Mold on ceiling. Used condom wrapper in pullout couch. Hair dryer was supposed to be privided IN ROOM had to go to office and wait 45 minutes to get one. There were prostitutes and people blaring music doing drugs all in the parking lot. There was hardly parking available. THERE ARE BETTER PLACES TO STAY!!!

Being minimal steps from the beach was great! Walking distance to Capt Jacks and many other resturants and shops. Very convienient location. We will stay here again in the future.

Absolutely loved the location and the easy walk to the beach. The room was ok, nothing fancy….could use some updating but it served its purpose. I will be back as long as I’m on the 1st floor. The proximity to the beach makes the rest of it unimportant.
