Property is well kept, rooms are clean.kitchen d friendly with a few things for kids to do. On beach and outside pool The lake guts ng in room was not very bright so that made it a little harder for person who had had a lot of eye surgeries or a person who had eye problems. That need the brighter light. Other than that it was a very nice place to stay and the price was fair. Person checked ng us in was very friendly and polite and nice to the kids

Registration staff was very friendly & nice. The room was clean. Very clean. We reserved 2 queen beds, got 2 full beds. The bathroom towel racks were loose...above toilet and next to sink. The property and beach was littered with dog poop. I signed something during registration that stated I would be charged $200 if I did not clean up after my dogs....I assumed the property would be clean. I did clean up after my dogs, because it's the right thing to do. Convenient location, just a quick drive to town.

Convenient to Ferry and clean. Staff was helpful. However, room was old and needs to be remodeled. Drapes had holes, security bar hardware for sliding door broken, broken lamp, mold on bathroom grout and other repairs needed. Rate was expensive for this type of property.

On the plus side the bed was comfortable and there was a patio facing the lake. Free shuttle to the boats to mackinaw island. On the negative side it was very outdated. Avocado green bathroom. They said beach but I’d hardly call that a beach. Breakfast was continental style. Would not stay there again. The town was just ok. Would stay in Macinaw city.

If you want to walk amongst geese droppings, this is your spot. The other properties in the area did not have geese and droppings all over the place. As soon as you step out of the parking lot and onto the grass droppings are everywhere and they are not small. We had our dog with us and he had trouble avoiding them. It was disgusting. We tried to walk down to the lake and said it’s not worth it too hard to walk back. They had the nerve to show a swingset and bonfire with chairs and picnic table. I would never stay here again and the room had curtains with worn out backing that let the lights shine into the room as soon as the sun came up.

This hotel looked good on the pictures but it wasn't. Everything looked old and almost dirty. Dead bugs were everywhere. The room was in need of so many updates. I think the only thing in the room that had been replace since the 80's was the mattress and maybe the carpet. But the carpet didn't look new. The bathroom had a yellow tub and yellow toilet with a squishy seat that was just gross. The beds were uncomfortable, found hair in the shower, and we found a few bugs in the room. The patio door didn't lock so anyone could have just walked into the room. We booked this hotel for two nights and we got there so late the first night we were too tired to find another hotel. So we cut our trip short and left the next day because we didn't want to spend another night in that room.

Rented 2 rooms for 2 nights. Let’s start with the good: it was easy to locate and the rooms were generally clean for the most part aside from one of the bed sheets having set in stains on it. The property sits right on the water and there are picnic tables, grills and fire pits. Now for the bad: The property is pretty worn down. The furniture is classic 90’s fare and the beds probably from then as well as they were rock hard and small (they were definitely doubles and not queen). Check in was easy, staff that night was friendly. However, their website says the front desk staff is there 24 hours but that is not true. They close after the last scheduled guest checks in and you can only be helped after that if it is an emergency and you call a number they have posted on the door. We checked in at night and there are no lights illuminating room numbers so make sure you have a flashlight to see. I realized after checking out and coming back from the island that I left my personal pillow in the room so we went back to see if they had it which they didn’t. The staff were very rude when I was asking about the pillow and told them I was heading back home because he said would call me after asking the room service staff. He seemed frustrated because there were also people checking in at the same time. Breakfast I cannot speak to. Pool was tiny.We have stayed at this place before 8 years ago and man it has really changed, not for the better either. We won’t be staying here again.

The fellow who checked me in at about 4:30 PM on July 18 was pleasant but not very helpful. He seemed to be in a hurry to “get me out of the office and to my room” I asked for recommendation to a good seafood restaurant and he said “I don’t eat seafood“. I asked which of the two ferry services to Machinaw Island were better. He said one was twice as expensive and took twice as long as the other. When I subsequently inquired with three other locals about town, all three of them said, “both ferry services are the same!” I guess I asked too many questions (total of two) after the second question, he directed me to a stand in the corner of the office which had about 30 different brochures
