The hotel is near the ferry terminal so it's quite cool at night, convenient location for moving to other places in the city. The room is clean, but the furniture is a bit old, not very fragrant. The receptionist and parking attendant are quick, polite, and cute. Overall, it's okay :d

I booked a room with river view quite airy, the room is fully equipped and extremely clean. The big plus is that the shampoo and shower gel is extremely fragrant, not the kind that the hotel usually keeps, and there is a shower cap suitable for girls who like to make their hair like me. The elevator is luxurious, clean and safe. The reception is polite and professional, always fresh. Below is the park next to the riverbank, full of snacks. I am giddy, so I did not take pictures of the hotel, but recommend everyone traveling to book rooms here. Great experience in Tien Giang during Tet but the service is too okie. And there is water in the refrigerator and HSD and price are not expensive, even though it's Tet.

Our group had a short but comfortable vacation. The hosts were considerate, preparing 3 rooms next to each other for our group without extra charge, even though one room was a VIP room. The room was cool and clean. The garden had lots of green trees. The road only had lights at night, only near the homestay, but in return, the scenery was very airy and peaceful. The homestay's Banana Leaf Restaurant cooked very delicious food, everyone remember to try the duck cooked with fermented bean curd.

The property is right near the center, so it's convenient for moving and eating. The room is very clean and quiet, with a balcony to dry clothes (if any). At the beginning of the road, there is ACB and GO supermarket. The owner is very friendly and enthusiastic about everything. I will stay here if I have a chance to come back to My Tho city.

The accommodation here, such as Peach Peach Home, often provides a comfortable and well-appointed base that balances local immersion with modern amenities.

Ward 4

Ward 4 presents a more laid-back and potentially greener side of My Tho, often characterized by a mix of residential housing and local businesses, with a slightly less dense urban feel than Ward 1. For those arriving from afar, the journey from the airport to Ward 4 offers a gradual introduction to the delta's landscape.

Thoi Son

Thoi Son is an island commune, offering a distinctly different experience from the mainland wards, characterized by its lush tropical scenery, fruit orchards, and a strong connection to the Mekong River's natural environment. This area is suited to travellers who want a more rural and nature-focused escape, where the primary activities revolve around exploring the waterways, visiting local farms, and enjoying the tranquility of island life. The Island Lodge Mekong Delta, a resort located here, highlights the area's appeal for those wanting to be immersed in nature.

For international visitors, Thoi Son provides an opportunity to experience the classic Mekong Delta landscape firsthand. It’s a place where you can witness traditional agricultural practices and enjoy fresh, locally grown produce. The pace of life here is significantly slower, making it a perfect spot for relaxation and rejuvenation. Travellers from the United States looking for adventure and nature, or European visitors interested in eco-tourism, will find Thoi Son a captivating destination. Access typically involves a boat trip or crossing a bridge, adding to its unique charm.

Travel Guide to Ward 3

Reaching Ward 3 involves first arriving in Vietnam, typically through a major international airport. For travellers from the United States, flights from hubs like JFK, LAX, or ORD to Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN) in Ho Chi Minh City are common, with journey times ranging from 18 to 24 hours, often involving one or two layovers. Indian travellers from Mumbai (BOM), Delhi (DEL), or Bangalore (BLR) can expect flights to SGN to take around 4 to 7 hours, often with a stopover. For travellers from Africa, flights from Nairobi (NBO), Lagos (LOS), Johannesburg (JNB), or Addis Ababa (ADD) to SGN will be longer, likely involving multiple connections and a total travel time of 20+ hours. From SGN, Ward 3 (My Tho) is approximately a 1.5 to 2-hour drive by bus or private car. Booking your book flight well in advance is recommended for better pricing.

Navigating within Ward 3 and the surrounding My Tho area is relatively straightforward. Local buses connect different wards and are very affordable, though they can be crowded. Taxis and ride-hailing services like Grab are widely available and offer a more comfortable and convenient way to travel, with prices typically ranging from USD 1-3 for short trips within the city. For exploring the local waterways and nearby islands, hiring a boat is a popular and essential activity. Bicycle rental is also common, especially in more rural areas like Thoi Son, offering a leisurely way to experience the delta's scenery.

The best time to visit Ward 3 is generally during the dry season, which runs from December to April. During these months, the weather is warm and sunny, with lower humidity and less rainfall, making it ideal for outdoor activities and exploring the Mekong Delta's attractions. The shoulder months of May and November can offer a good balance of decent weather and fewer crowds.

Purchasing a local SIM card at the airport is highly recommended for affordable data and calls. Visa Information for Vietnam

For travellers planning to visit Ward 3, which is located in Vietnam, understanding the visa requirements for entry into Vietnam is crucial and varies significantly by nationality. US passport holders can typically enter Vietnam visa-free for stays of up to 45 days, provided their passport is valid for at least six months beyond their entry date. European travellers holding passports from the UK, Germany, or France also benefit from visa-free entry for up to 45 days under similar conditions. Indian passport holders generally require a visa; they can apply for an e-visa online, which allows for stays of up to 90 days, or obtain a visa on arrival under specific conditions, though the e-visa is often the most straightforward option.

Travellers from African nations face more varied requirements. Nigerian passport holders typically require a visa, often needing to apply through a Vietnamese embassy or consulate in advance, and may need an invitation letter. Travellers from Kenya and South Africa may also require a visa, with options for e-visas or embassy applications depending on the specific duration and purpose of their visit. It is essential for all travellers, especially those from African countries, to thoroughly research the latest requirements for their specific nationality well before their intended travel dates.

The application process for Vietnamese visas, particularly e-visas, is generally online and requires a valid passport, a digital photograph, and a passport scan. Fees vary by nationality and visa type but typically range from USD 25 to USD 50 for an e-visa. Proof of onward travel, such as a return flight ticket, and confirmed hotel bookings are often required upon arrival, even for visa-free entries.
