There was not much to not like about this cruise.. it was low to mid priced but only had about 20 people onboard so there was always heaps of room. The food was good and the price of drinks was ok .. they offered unlimited drinks for $30usd .. challenge accepted.. includes him beam and Johnny walker as well as cocktails for the girls

Due to my bf and our short stay in Hanoi, we were only able to spare a 2 day and 1 night cruise so Legacy Cruise was the perfect choice for us. The customer service was great from coordinating our transportation to/from the ship to our efficient and friendly tour guide Dino and the kind attention of all the ship’s staff...our stay on the ship far exceeded our expectation. My bf and I do not eat pork, so the chef made special dishes for us that accompanied the plethora of food he was already making. It’s always difficult to please a crowd but none of us went away hungry. We were also not expecting any of the excursions that the ship offered on our short cruise so we were pleasantly surprised that we were taken to Titop island and Surprise Cave. The ship even had activities like kayaking, cooking class and squid fishing. My bf and I usually cruise on larger cruise ships so this was a different experience for us. Being on a smaller ship with 20 other guests allowed for a sense of comraderie and we enjoyed the intimacy. Overall, my bf enjoyed ourselves on our cruise with Legacy and appreciate the work of their staff to make our trip to Halong Bay successful.

I stayed on Legacy cruise on package 2 days/1 night & I loved it. The boat was older than picture but comfortable, clean with private bathroom. The activities were very interesting. I like to the view from Titop island top very much. Swimming & Kayaking in Lan Ha bay where less touristy was brilliant. Foods were good & staff were friendly. Will be back with family!

A good midrange cruise of Halong bay with plenty of fun activities. Not a luxury liner by any means, but a lot of fun.

The location itself was lovely, and the activities enjoyable, though the cave visit felt a bit rushed. The ship was obviously old and run down. One of my towels was stained and tattered, so it became the shower mat. The sheets smelled clean, though. The bed was just a slab of hard foam, with no give at all, so it was a very uncomfortable night. The AC was nice, but only worked when the boat wasn’t moving. My room was heavily fragranced, which made me feel immediately sick upon entering it. It turned out, they’d sprayed an air freshener inside right before guests arrived, so if you have sensitivity to fragrances, I would advise them ahead of time not to spray it in your room. Our guide was kind and spoke English well. The activities he led were fun. Meals included way too much food, so a lot was wasted each time, which felt sad to me. The flavoring was also a bit too sweet for my taste for most things. Drinks were not included and the on-ship prices are a bit ridiculous, so you might want to stock up on drinks while off the ship.

Adequate cruise, majority of staff incredibly friendly and kind. Far too much time allocated to kayaking ( was very pleasant the first time but got boring by the third time as an activity) ships condition was very dated. But was a more affordable option

Very enjoyable cruise. Ship was a little old compared to some of the others in the bay, but was nice overall. We did the 2 day 1 night cruise which was fun, albeit the timings of the itenary was slightly odd (eg very early start on day 2 followed by sitting around after the first activity). Kayaking was our highlight and also enjoyed the ‘surprising cave’. Food surpassed expectations. Overall would recommend, especially for the price

Our one night tour with legacy cruises was lovely. We were picked up from our hotel in Hanoi right when we had arranged. It was a 4 hour bus ride to the start of the cruise. On the boat we were fed 4 meals, all four served family style with other guests on board. The good was good but not great, a mix of western and Asian dishes with more food offered than we could eat. Food was covered in the price of the cruise but drinks were extra, $3 or $4 for beer or around $7 for wine or mixed drinks. The boat traveled through the beautiful bay, using a smaller boat we pulled behind us to shuttle us to our various activities. We got to do a short hike to see a lovely aerial view of the bay, swim on a sand beach with MANY other visitors, visit a large cave, and kayak near some homes on the water. All activities were in areas with many other tourists from other cruises. The areas also often featured gift shops, for better or worse. You could buy beer, water, a snack, or a souvenir; but it did take away from the natural beauty of the area. Our guide was a delight, he spoke good English, gave us some extra insight on the areas we visited, told jokes, and was with us from when we were picked up in Hanoi to when we were dropped back off in Hanoi the following day. Overall we were very happy with our tour. The boat was nice but not the most luxurious boat we saw on the water. For the price it seemed like a solid choice to view an incredible part of the world.

Took the 2 night (3 day) option. This is exactly 48 hours and definitely preferable to the 1 night option as able to get away from the crowds and polluted areas of the bay. Beautiful scenery and trips for folks and activities very well organised with efficient transfers. Very good mid price boat. Plenty of good food. Drink prices reasonable. Room comfortable and clean on arrival but change of towels, replenishing soap and shampoo and emptying of rubbish bins after day 1 should have been standard

The room was ok. The service was poor. The whole experience seems to be about getting you on and off the boat as quickly as possible while providing the minimal amount of customer service possible. A few examples to illustrate the point: (1) They had Nescafe at breakfast which I personally do not like. I asked for a Vietnamese coffee (which you have to pay extra for which I was fine with). They initially refused to give me a coffee and said it would take too long. I literally had to insist 3 or 4 times before they made me a coffee (which of course took 2 minutes). (2) They make customers carry their bags on and off the boat. This was fine with me as I generally prefer to carry my own bag anyway but this is absolutely unheard of Vietnam as far as I could tell. (3) They serve you rather pedestrian food and they do it family-style. I am mostly fine eating with strangers so I didn't really mind but they obviously did it because it was cheaper and way easier for them. As they will only serve food this way, you literally have to be at the table when they serve the food or you apparently cannot eat. I was "late" for breakfast which was served at 7 am and they rang my doorbell once and knocked loudly twice to wake me up, etc. The service was so unlike anything else I experienced in Vietnam. All this would have been fine if the Bay was worth visiting. Unfortunately, it frankly is not. It is polluted, you literally see garbage everywhere, and it is overcrowded with boats.

Staff were great, food was really good. Room was dated but more than expected with a proper bathroom with shower and good pressure and hot water. Boat was good with upstairs area and at night we could fish for squid. Partying was ok till 10:30 which was all we needed as they are early days with lots of activities

Had a great stay at Legacy Cruise. The shuttle pick up from Hanoi to Halong Bay was well organized. Our tour guide "hung" speaks good english and is not stingy sharing his knowledge of Vietnam History with us. Boat Crew was very attentive and helpful. Sun deck of Legacy Cruise was awesome as I spend most of my time on the sundeck instead of my room. The tour includes a trip to Bai Tu Long Bay - Fisherman Village where you can either kayak or sit on a bamboo boat, Sung Sot Cave where you get to enjoy Halong Bay view from the top. All in all, I had a great time cruising with Legacy Cruise.

We booked the 2 night cruise but you can see everything with the 1 night one, however it was good to have time to relax and enjoy the scenery. The food and service was good but the room was in need of a refurb and the beds very hard.
