Only managed one night, we wished it could have been more, best part of the stay was the breakfast, simply brilliant with very pleasant dining/bar area. Our room, was worth the money (with a sea view), yes it did need updating, which we can see money is being spent on the property, so it looks like it would be in the plans, hotel is right on the front which is great and ideal for walking the dog either along the prom or in Queen’s Park. Staff were very friendly and helpful even offering to sit with our dog so we could fetch our breakfast, excellent!

Once renovations are completed it may look more inviting. Our room was missing the shower curtain which made water pool on the floor around the toilet. There was a wet mat left in the shower base which the cleaners must of forgot to pick up after cleaning the room.

The web site promised much, the reality was much different. The restaurant was only open for breakfast, breakfast itself was very basic especially the cooked option, as this was an extra charge it was not value for money. My room was described as a Superior Twin, the picture shown had a table and chairs, it was spacious and rather nice, the reality was no room for table or chairs, it was very cramped. Bath robes and telephone were promised but neither were there. We never had a visit by house-keeping, so beds were never made or refreshments replenished. We paid for a sea view, this was obscured by a refuse shute from roof repairs down to a skip, plus a large sign advertising the scaffolding company. The room seems to have recently been partially refurbished but one of the bedside cabinets was very poorly assembled so was unusable, the bedside reading lights were broken. I understand the Hotel was under new Management, so I am guessing that what was promised was what might be in the future, so the website was premature. Despite all of the above the staff we met were charming and helpful so we stayed the course. I only wish I could attach a few pictures as they could prove my words are not a moan, but hard truth. GH.

Checkin to be told what floor tej room is on and that's it, rooms are very outdated but you get what you pay for I guess, in this case you pay for the bay view

Great location with superb view of the bay. Staff are helpful and attentive if not particularly welcoming. My room is clean and well stocked with free tea and coffee. Unfortunately there's no water pressure in the shower (sink pressure is o.k.) and this wing of the building has been rather primitively partitioned and plastered. Good breakfast however. Contrary to the entry on Expedia this hotel has no proprietary parking, so one has to rely on finding a space on the street; I dare say this is a problem during high season.

I spent just the 1 night at the hotel with my 5 year old daughter. I was worried when arriving, as there was scaffolding all around the building, but this didn't affect our stay with banging or anything. The receptionist was very friendly both on arrival and check out. On the way to our room, there was a fire door which had its soft close mechanism broken and this would stop the door opening fully and bang each time, which was difficult to get through with a suitcase, so just needs fixing. The room itself was perfect for me and my daughter, though the floor boards were very creeky, but this didn't affect our stay, just my neuroses. For what I paid, I was very satisfied with my stay and I would stay again.

Check-in is strange and unsecure although I've prepaid for the whole stay, the receptionnist aksed for my credit card and wrote down all the informations. Not very secure at all... A credit card print on the payment terminal could have been done instead for a deposit in case of issue. Single room #57 is tiny and located at the rear of the building. The curtains badly repaired let the light in. Poor sound isolation and a close bar (or something like this) decided to bin a huge amount of glass bottles at 6h30 AM. Window cannot be closed perfectly in the bathroom the handle seems OoO so I didn't insist. Bed is short for 6ft 1 inches tall guy but the matress is correct. Anyway, shower room is in good conditions and the water is warm. Breakfast is OK and served from 7h00 to 9h30 AM on week days, buffet style (sausage, bacon, beans in tomato sauce, omelet, hash brown, danish pastries, white and brown bread, slices of watermelon, fruit juices, etc ... The hotel has a bar inside but I didn't went to.

External of the property and rooms were so outdated and dirty. The bathroom and bedroom including the walls and carpet were very unhygienic, outdated and dirty. The bar area and downstairs were nice and modern and the WiFi was good. Wouldn’t stay again

This hotel has the cheek to charge you an extra £2 for breakfast if you don't order it in advance. The central heating radiators were not working and there were still the remains of bugs in the ceiling light. The hotel only did breakfasts and no evening meals

Tiny toilet, sink & shower were in another part of the room and were also tiny. Shower had mould & cudicle had hair present in 2 locations. Room average size, good sized tv, poor view & bed uncomfortable. I've stayed in a sea view room in this hotel previously & the difference was night & day
