Had a really nice overnight stay. After a five minute walk from the NCP down the road plenty of spaces on the Friday evening, and fairly reasonable at £17 for 24 hours with a discount from the hotel. Friendly greeting when met at reception as we arrived, simple check in. The deluxe suite wasn't really deluxe, just a large room and separate large bathroom and toilet, it could really do with an update or at least decorating. It was all clean, no dust, dirty or greasy surfaces just things like messy silicon in the bathroom and stains on the walls. The bed had really clean and tidy linen, but was probably in need of a new mattress it sloped a bit to one side and very soft, we'd had a long day and were tired and slept surprisingly really well though. The breakfast the next morning was really good for a hot buffet, plenty of choice being regularly topped up. The hotel was full when we stayed but wasn't busy at all when we went for ours at 9:30 with no dirty tables, two staff doing a good job, we had a really nice time there and it'll be our first choice next time we're in Cardiff

We have stayed her before - a few years ago - and purposely chose this hotel as we liked its situation. Great location and the room and bedding were very clean. We had a fan in the room which was necessary in this warm weather and the room was very comfortable with complimentary tea and coffee. Also, we had the bonus of a great breakfast which we weren’t aware of, but a most welcome addition and had a great choice of everything you would want. Car parking is in the NCP across the road, which is different to our previous visit when there was hotel parking (this is now closed and a building site) and £32 for 24 hours. Staff were courteous and friendly and check in was easy. We had a good stay, but the hotel, although beautiful, is old and could do with some investment in the structure and decoration, but it was absolutely suitable for our short visit.

Plug in my sink stuck. Free wi fi didnt work. Room was ok.

Bar service and reception service was good. Cleaning staff friendly and efficient. A fan and windows that didn't open in the heatwave could be improved by air conditioning. Good value though.

Interesting place. The building is very old so no A/C. The provided fan was ... meh. I don't know that I'd return in the summer. Room cleaning staff were fabulous. Front desk staff weren't nearly as good. They gave me incorrect answers to questions about where to go for different kinds of shops, etc. Once I figured out to ask the cleaning staff everything went easier. The breakfast was ok. I only purchased it for my first morning. Fresh fruit would've been nice. Or any fiber ... After the first morning I ate at nearby cafes, etc. Much tastier for a comparable price. The price was decent, so I might well stay there again, but not in the summer.

Booked in error on the expedia system. Tried to cancel within 5 minutes. Hotel did not reply for 4 days then told me they would be issuing no refund at all even though the booking was still weeks away.

Very good location-accessible to everything.Minutes away from the park and its in the heart of city centre.Just across the Cardiff castle.Shops and restaurants just around the corner.Very good stay indeed.Old building but its fair for the price paid.Thank you.

Served the purpose for our 1 night stay

The hotel was perfect for what we needed, good value for money. The rooms need updating, curtains need seeing to as they don't fit and the room was hot, but a fan had been placed in. We payed 10.00 each for breakfast, no eggs , mushrooms brought in 39 mins after I had been sitting there, all other food was again value for money. Coffee also run out and wasn't topped up.
