We had a nice stay at Waldorf Astoria Versailles, including dinner at Gordon Ramsay, where we had a good experience.
Unfortunately, two days after checkout, we were incorrectly charged €200 for a “no-show” fee at the restaurant, despite the fact that we had actually dined there. What should have been a simple mistake to correct turned into a four-month process.
Since February, I have repeatedly contacted the hotel, but the issue was not properly investigated, and I felt that they expected me to simply give up. Only after my Danish bank opened a fraud claim was the matter seriously reviewed. The hotel then acknowledged the mistake to the bank (not to me) and refunded the €200.
I am disappointed that it required four months of effort and intervention from my bank to resolve an error that could have been easily corrected from the beginning. This experience has unfortunately changed my opinion of the hotel, and I will not return or recommend.
