We were locked out of our room for 3 hours and the pool was very dirty. The cleaner was a very bad cleaner. When they say clean they really don't mean clean. I'm never going back again!!! From Aoife aged 7.

Booked and paid for this property via Expedia an hour before arrival. I booked as it was supposed to be a 4 Star Hotel. It definitely isn’t. On arrival, from the outside it looks ok. I went to check in and I was asked to pay, and even though I explained that I had paid via Expedia, I was told it wasn’t showing as paid on their system. So paid with my credit card. I went up to the room, checked my online account and sure enough, charged twice. Although I will say it was significantly cheaper to book direct with the hotel than via Expedia. So I won’t be using Expedia any more! Give the hotel credit, it was refunded when I checked out. Now the hotel room… Hottest day of the year and the hotel doesn’t have aircon. The “opening windows” was a 1 inch gap, stifling heat, but the hotel did provide a fan. Carpets dirty and stained, walls similar. Bathroom had a broken towel rail, broken toilet flush, and the inside of the toilet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. Open electrical socket in the bathroom, filthy ceiling lights, dirty walls, door handles and mouldy windows… list goes on. I then laid on the top of the bed and then was bitten three times by something! All in all, a tired, dated hotel that certainly should not have that fourth star! Two star plus at best.

Beautiful grounds and good service. Desperately need to update the rooms, specifically the bathrooms. For a higher end hotel this stops it getting into a 4 or 5 rating.

My partner and I were so excited to spend a night away, our first from our 5 month old son. Everything was great to start. There was an event on and our room was by the event space, music was loud but we knew it would stop eventually. The issue came after the event ended when a couple returned to their room next to ours with multiple people. They had their own party which kept both of us up, I was about to complain to reception when there was a knock on their door and they were asked to leave so it quitened down but they returned shortly after and continued to make noise until 4:30. Neither of us slept which was what we were most excited for, we complained the next morning about the noise. Management told us their had been multiple complaints put in as a result of the noise and that was it. We spent upwards of £200 whilst there on food and drink and they couldn't even offer us discount on our next stay or free breakfast as a goodwill gesture. I would not recommend going as they won't remove inconsiderate guests and don't compensate you for having to put up with them.

I enjoyed my stay . Everywhere was clean and tidy. Beautiful environment and friendly /polite staff. Would definitely come again. Linda (breakfast) in particular was amazing, made me feel really welcome. She’s a Gem.

Room was double booked on arrival so not room i had initially booked, however after a complaint they managed to find me a privilege room i had booked. Swimming and facilities in desperate need of refurb. Restaurant staff running round like headless chickens 3 people tsking my room service order then tried to sit me down. Asked for room service but wasnt booked at room service no fsult of my own so had to wait in hotel area for myself to take it to room. One positive the hotel manager was a very pleasant lady and apologised for my inconvenience. Sorry but will not be returning.
