Very clean and comfortable beds .

It’s a very nice hotel. Close to shopping areas. Very nice and clean room. Checking in time seems to me too long. I also went to the restaurant by the pool where I ordered tequila shots, I asked for lemon and what I got was lemon juice out of a jar. The lady told me that it was because they didn’t have lemons but when someone else ordered mineral water she was able to provide them with real lemons. I asked her what was up with that, all she said was because mineral water goes with lemon. I guess not with tequila. That I didn’t like, I felt that I was being treated differently, even though I was being respectful with them the whole time.

Lovely hotel in the heart of Guatemala City with a delicious breakfast and beautiful pool to lounge in.

its close to the airport and they can pick you up and get you back and the location is in mid city very convenient.

Barcelo has vastly declined over the past 10 years. As newer hotels come about- it fails to make necessary property improvements and needs a major overhaul. Even reporting broken lights in the room, dirty bathroom, and carpeting that is more than 20 years old makes it feel dingy and unbecoming. The breakfast offerings seem to all have the lower-class appearance of a cheaper buffet and younger waitstaff appear to be less interested in the diners and their experiences. We paid for friends to join us for breakfast at $24 per person. But- the whole buffet hot plate meals looked a day old. I don’t think it remains in the top 10 places in Guatemala City to stay now. Also, even areas like parking- attendants previously came to help one from their car- now- you don’t even see an attendant and can’t find a cart for luggage. An unfortunate turn…
